Can you overcome the Kingdom of Random?

The game itself is based within a realm known as the Kingdom of Random. In here, everyone has their fate decided by the roll of a (cursed) dice. When you reach the age of 12, you are the next person to see the dice roll and thus determine what happens to you next. Lost in Random is built around the story of Even, who has a sister, called Odd (of course). Odd is captured by the Queen of Random, who has a nefarious idea up her sleeve. Even decides to fight back, though, and this is the story of that quest.

You will head across the six realms that make up the Kingdom of Random. Across each realm, you’ll need to overcome various challenges, puzzles, and foes along the way. You will also work alongside a sentient dice known as Dicey, who will help you to understand this increasingly randomised world and thus find ways to overcome its numerous challenges and obstacles that lay in wait for you.

Lost in Random is almost certain to have people thinking of Sea of Solitude, but it would be hard to find a game that truly matches up to this unique proposition.

Fascinating action in a whole new setting

Without doubt, Lost in Random looks to be one of the most interesting adventure games to come out in some time. The use of a board game style for combat is innovative and fresh. You’ll need to use Dicey to help you progress in battle, getting to the final piece of the board. You need to also fuel Dicey, which is done by gaining energy cubes dropped from your various enemies. Power up Dicey, and get from A to B to proceed.

You’ll be using a blend of classic board game tropes, including cards of various types, to give yourself a one-up in the middle of battle. This promises to make sure that you need to be tactical with how you progress in battle and in the story, ensuring that you always think a few steps ahead so you never get caught out.
