If you’ve ever wanted a chance to own a real Internet Café, developer Cheesecake Dev has made it possible with the Internet Café Simulator. This surprisingly detailed game lets you live the life of an Internet Café owner, down to the smallest detail. The game starts you off in an apartment, after a few small decisions such as the name of your café and whether you’ll take a bank loan or not. This apartment is also where you will save the game by sleeping in the bed. All progress will be lost if you don’t, so getting back to your apartment is important.
Once you leave the apartment to find your Internet Café, you find that you’ve been dropped into just about the scummiest place on Earth. Sandwich your shop between a sex shop and what looks like a homeless dude selling Pizza, and you are ready to start your adventure.
Decorate your shop how you like
Once inside your shop (and you’ve cleaned up all the trash left by disgusting people) you can start decorating any way you like. The game has enough variety that you can inject some personality into your Café no matter what style you like. You can make it more of a sports bar, a traditional internet café, or an arcade. This definitely offers a lot more fun to the game. As your café becomes more popular, you can expand the shop into various other areas that are blocked off in the beginning.
This game is surprisingly similar to Trader Life Simulator, but an internet café version. If you’ve ever played this simulator and have wanted to try something similar, Internet café Simulator is right up your alley.
English translation is a little rough
Throughout the game, it’s clear that the developers aren’t native English speakers. A warning that pops up at the beginning of the game warns that, “When you start a new game, all your progress in the game is delete.” These not quite right translations continue through the game.
Issues with lag
Another minor issue with the game is lag. Just potential customers walking around can bog up the game, and characters can also easily get caught on corners in the game, causing areas to have half a dozen people all pushing to try and get through a wall. The game overall is not the most polished in that regard, with the computers in the café being the most professionally done. The computers at least, are refreshingly detailed, with the ability to do things like change the background and visit different sites a refreshing touch to an otherwise fairly limited game.
Modest amount of gameplay entertainment
This game has enough content to keep people entertained for about 6 hours. It’s not the longest game to enjoy, but if you only have time to play games on the weekend or just want a quick game to pass the time, it’s a good choice.
This game has a lot of potential, but it really needs to be polished more to become a good game. Once you’ve played about 6 hours, there’s nowhere to go. What’s the point in building up your café if there is nothing else you can buy?
Although it’s definitely very rough and needs more polish, it is entertaining as it is, and could go much farther with a little more effort from the developers.
- Interesting concept
- Some interesting details
- Short game play for those with no time
- Not very polished
