About the game

Dungeon of Dragon Knight goes back to revisit the style of classic dungeon crawler games and role-playing systems. Early on in the game, you start by customizing your party for the exploration, these parties are conformed by 4 characters. There are four races to choose from (Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Dragonborn), and each character can be of one of the five classes (Ranger, Cleric, Wizard, Fighter, and War Lord).

Obviously, each class has its own abilities and powers, and you'll want to pick a balanced team and not go with a full team of fighters or wizards. But there's more than just the classes, as the race of the characters also affects the abilities of the class you choose. but There are also experience points from the basic customization, this allows you to designate these points into different skills or abilities for the characters. Don't worry if you're not completely satisfied with the results, you'll still be able to upgrade your character later on as you gain experience, being able then to level up and upgrade your character.

The game has a playable narration as the introduction of the story, and after that, you're set to explore the first part of the dungeon on your own. You'll quickly realize that this game is a lot of a homage to classic games of the genre.

Not much new

This dungeon crawler is clearly trying to combine the exploration elements from Dungeons and Dragons, classic RPG elements, and ambiance similar to retro classics like Eye of the Beholder. So even though the visuals and most elements are leveled up a bit to make it much more modern, there really isn't much new added to the genre in this title, so it feels old and outdated right out of the gate.

Dungeon of Dragon Knight is too much of a homage to the classic games of the genre, so much that it actually forgot to make something new and original. Not only that, but the game also feels bareboned.

There are so many elements like the skills and exploration that simply feel incomplete. There are no skill trees, and even with that, there are so few to choose from for each class that it ends up feeling streamlined. A blast from the past, with all the ups and downs from the old games.
