Lost Case: Monster Girl Takeover

Lost Case: Monster Girl Takeover had me as soon as I saw monster girl in the title. This is a lewd Metroidvania style of game and a game that I am very sad to say appears to be abandoned. Hey, there is still plenty to see and do here, but it has been over a year since its last update so I am not sure the developer has any plans to go back and continue the game. It is a real shame to as what they have here is great and when you read the stuff they had planned for this, it had all the makings of a very solid lewd adventure game.

Strange Happenings In A Far Away City

As Lost Case: Monster Girl Takeover never got completed, the story leaves a lot of things unanswered, but it does have a great premise and one that any of my fellow monster girl lovers will get a kick out of. We play the role of a detective and we have been asked to come to a strange city. Turns out that this city is full of monster girls and with us being a good looking dude, these monster girls want to have their wicked way with us. I get a real sense of femdom here with the story and let me tell you, I am very happy with that. I would have loved to have seen where this story went had it been completed.

The Basics Are Here

With the state that Lost Case: Monster Girl Takeover sits in as I write this, the bones are here for a very good lewd Metroidvania game. Moving around the city feels great, it has a kind of parkour system that allows you to zip around the city and it controls very well. You also have combat that you can engage in with the monster girls and there is a shop that you can make use of as well. I think that the developer did a great job of getting the basics right as the game is genuinely a joy to play, I just wish that there was more to do and things were more fleshed out.

A Pixel Dick… Private Detective I Mean

Lost Case: Monster Girl Takeover goes for a pixel art style, but this is not your typical 8 or 16-bit pixel art that you get in many other lewd games. It has a much higher quality and smoother look about it almost like a modern game that is designed to resemble a throwback game or even a game that would have been released on something like the Sega Saturn. I love the dark and moody city and the monster girls you come across are cute and animated very well. You get a decent amount of sex scenes too considering the game was never finished. I do have to address the music which I actually liked, it has a kind of funky upbeat Persona vibe about it.

Ahh, What Could Have Been

The most frustrating thing about Lost Case: Monster Girl Takeover is that on the main page for this, the developer has a whole bunch of things that they wanted to add or flesh out more. They wanted to add some mystery to the story with lots of bits of lore being hidden around the city. More complex combat with various upgrades, new abilities, and epic boss battles. A day and night system where you can only do certain things at day or at night! Honestly, if they could have gotten all of this in I am sure it would have been even more amazing than it already is.

• It has some fun and cute monster girl designs
• I liked the Metroidvania gameplay
• The art in the game is awesome
