Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game

Deck building games are fairly commonplace. These days to make a deck building game exciting and worthwhile, you truly need to have an original twist. Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game promises to offer just that with its unique offering to the genre.

Yi Xian has a huge selection of cards available to you. In order to create a deck that is truly worthy of combat, you’ll have to hand pick the best cards. Once you think you have a deadly deck, you’ll need to take it into combat and see if it is truly worthy of being called a fight deck.

Choose a sub-profession

The game purposefully gives you a lot of cards to sort through. You will have to decide for yourself which cards work for your deck or not. On top of the ordinary cards presented, you can also choose a sub-profession and get cards exclusive to that sub-profession to add to your deck.

There are also special cards called Opportunity cards that let you customize your deck. These cards are rare.

Choose a Destiny

To help separate players from each other even more, the opportunity to choose your Destiny will also arise during the game. Destiny is dependent on your character choice and sect and will change various aspects of the game.

Together, all of these changes make every play through a unique experience. On top of all this, players are allowed to start over again and try a new path by building a different deck.

Well received in beta

With a game that isn’t out yet, it’s always a coin toss judging how good a game will be. This time, we don’t have to guess. Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game was beta tested in July. Players who tested it overwhelmingly agreed that it was a wonderful card game.

Everyone who played it mentioned they couldn’t wait for the release, and liked it as is—without any bug fixing.

The game has the same in-depth deck building as the classic game, Slay The Spire, but doesn’t go in the same direction with story.

Beautiful Artwork

To complete the picture of this game, Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game has very nice watercolors for their artwork. The art also has an Asian inspired theme to it, in keeping with the rest of the game. Since Yi Xian is based on a Chinese Fantasy called Xianxia, the art ties perfectly into this theme.

Although Yi Xian: The Cultivation Card Game isn’t out yet, the message from beta players is clear. If you are at all a fan of deck building games, this is not a game you want to miss. Yi Xian is a fresh new take on deck building, and was well liked by beta players even before all the bugs were fixed.
