The Censor

The Censor is a solid lewd adventure game that is made better thanks to the fantastic lewd pixel art that it has. The game has a very fun premise, and if you are into the whole corruption and even NTR thing, you will have a lot of fun here, as the game lets you live out a kind of power fantasy. Now, it may just be me looking too deeply into this, but I got some real bad guy vibes from this one, and sometimes I think that it is a lot of fun when a game lets you play as what is pretty much the villain, especially in a situation like this!

Bills Have To Be Paid!

The idea of the story in The Censor is something that I thought was pretty fun. We play the role of the guy called Yuto Fujimoto, and we are pretty much a computer genius, but we are short on cash and need a job! Well, it may not seem like the most exciting job for a man of our intellect, but a position of a post censor has opened up at social media giant, Facibook (a little on the nose, isn’t it?) and we end up applying for it and of course, we manage to score the job!

Fun At Work!

The twist here is that The Censor has a real power fantasy kind of story, as the power that Yuto has from being able to look at all these people's private images goes to his head, and he realizes that he can use these XXX images to blackmail them into sex and getting what he wants! There is a bit of a personal touch here as he recognizes one of the people he is blackmailing, but before long, he is just using this position to try and bang any chicks that he thinks are hot, and it turns out, there are quite a few of them who are using this site!

Taking A “Load” Off!

No, I am not talking about the kind of load you are thinking about! Instead, I am talking about all of the loading that The Censor has to do! To be fair, we have a fun gameplay loop. The day is split into four parts, and we have a set amount of action points that we can use, the ultimate goal being spending enough time with and blackmailing enough so we can have sex. The work that we do, as well as the sex, is done via a basic but still fun mini game. However, for as much fun as the game is, a huge chunk of its rather short playtime is spent waiting for it to load! Everything you do in this game seems like it requires it to load a new screen; just walking from point A to point B requires what I feel is some unnecessary loading!

Well, That Won Me Over

The thing is, for as frustrating as the loading started to become as I reached the end of The Censor. This game has some fantastic and very high quality lewd pixel art that really did click with me. I will admit, the internal camera is not for me, but the actual XXX scenes are done nicely and large enough so that they take up most of the screen. The whole game, in general, looks great, even the non sexual stuff. It may just be me, but I got some real Persona games vibes from the general look of the game, not that there is banging in the Persona games, but I am sure you get what I mean. In addition to looking good, I was very happy with the sound effects and the music, which felt like it fit in here perfectly.

Pros:

• I got a kick out of working as a social media censor
• The gameplay loop is pretty fun, without feeling repetitive
• I loved the pixel art and the animated sex scenes
• This ended up being a very fun time

Cons:

• The load times can start to get on your nerves towards the end of the game
• I have never been a huge fan of the whole internal camera thing
