Skyclimbers

Skyclimbers is an upcoming and very ambitious looking open-world action RPG. Now, as I write this the game does not have a release date scheduled, but I think it is one of the more interesting looking open world games that is coming to Steam this year. If you enjoy fantasy settings, base building, and all the stuff you would expect from an open-world action RPG, you have to keep on reading to see if this is the game for you as we are breaking down a few of the cool sounding features.

Stay Classy People

As you would expect from an action RPG, you have a selection of classes to chose from. There are five different classes and each one not only has their own backstory. They also have different abilities; legendary items and you can tweak them so that they are just perfect for your own personal play style.

Staying Alive!

The gameplay of Skyclimbers sounds pretty interesting. You play the game in the third person and you have this large open world that you can explore which is made up of different biomes. You will get to take on all kinds of enemies and the game does support co-op. What I like about this is that you can choose to play PvP or PvE so it is the best of both worlds. You will need to find and farm for resources so that you can keep hunger at bay and heal any wounds that you may have.

Protect The Stronghold

One thing that sounds very interesting about Skyclimbers is that it has base building and it is very deep. You get to build your stronghold just the way you want it. You need to mine for resources so that you can build up your stronghold. New people will arrive here and it sounds pretty cool. I do hope that it is not just a “gimmick” and that it adds an extra layer of strategy to the game and from who much they are talking about this feature I do think that could be the case.

I Choose You!

There are monsters in Skyclimbers and you are able to tame them and have them work with you. I love the sound of this and think it is very, very cool! There are these elemental monsters in the game that are called, Sentius. You can find them in the wild and tame them so that they will join you. You can then breed monsters too and have up to three of them at any one time in your party. These monsters also can be used in combat and that sounds very cool to me.

Pros:

• Each class looks and behaves very different
• The idea of taming monsters is pretty fun
• I like the thought of making my own stronghold from resources I have gathered
• It looks like there is going to be a great deal to do in this game

Cons:

• Will the base building in the game have real depth to it?
• Why are they not telling us what the plot and premise of the story are?
