Single Handedly developed by Hapax Game and released This May, 2022, Roady life is a pretty ambitious game with over two years of development. Roady Life aims to be a transport simulation title of various kinds, although it emphasizes everything related to industry, not only in terms of transport, but also in terms of trade, economics and management of companies in the sector. It also includes some very interesting elements regarding the role-playing genre, which will make every player feel like a real tycoon of the road.

So what does it do with all these interesting elements combined and how does it play out? Well, let's talk about that!

About the game

As we mentioned before, Roady Life is a pretty ambitious game that aims to simulate everything in the transportation business. Even though the bar in this market is already pretty highly set thanks to all the excellent Truck Simulator games that are actually pretty acclaimed by the audience and the critics.

If today we talk about a truck driving simulator, we cannot ignore the titles developed by SCS, it seems difficult for a game created by a lone developer to compete against these games that constantly receive updates and have a powerful community of players behind them to begin with. But that's exactly what Roady Life is going for.

From the beginning, we see that the game is trying to do so much, not just transporting things, but also including the economic system, business management, resources, fixing your vehicles, and a lot more. you can even customize them however you like. Remember that we’re not just talking about cargo transportation, but also there’s transit and buses. Basically, anything that implies managing vehicles to carry something, the developer wanted in this game.

Does it deliver?

Graphically the game is pretty poor, not just because it looks bad, but also it feels bad to look at. The game has pretty dull colors, low poly and low-quality models. Glitchy and buggy visuals, and everything also includes a horrible level of messy v-sync.

The sound section does not stand out for an excessive quality either. It complies with the ambience of the typical sounds of vehicles (although they are identical, a car sounds the same as a truck, even the horn), however, the ambient music is trivial and repetitive.

The gameplay is quite poor, not only when driving any type of car or truck, but to performing any action, from buying a vehicle to positioning a building we want to acquire and build on a plot of land.

Roady Life is a game that was way too ambitious for its own good, drawing a comparison with the Icarus tale wouldn’t be fair, because Icarus at least flew well for a while. However, we do have to give some praise to the developer, as even if it may be a bit messy, this game has a lot of stuff going on. And, yes, it’s glitchy and bad, but it kinda works.
