PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist is a surprisingly good game set in the universe of his very own creation. These games are designed for iOS or Android, so be prepared to whip out your smartphone for this one.

In the game, you are playing PewDiePie himself, and as such face many of the problems he confronts commonly on his channel. These are, of course, morphed into less literal versions. PewDiePie for example, have as many people who hate him as he does those who love him—and he’s got a lot of people who love him. These haters show up in the game as angry barrels crying for your blood.

These references and more are seen as you defeat 5 minute or so long levels in an action platformer setting similar to Sword of Xolan in art and style. Your goal in the game is to collect coins you can use in the game’s shop.

Get ready to die. A lot.

While it’s true that each level takes about 5 minutes to finish, that’s if you can reach the ending alive. In a throwback to retro games of the past, it may take you dozens of tries to survive all the way to the end and finish that level.

The levels are just challenging enough to be fun, and perhaps a little frustrating, without being so difficult you want to quit.

To make things more fun, the game avoids being repetitive by adding something new each level. In one you may have to jump from car to car, while in another it may be a side-scrolling shooter set up. This helps avoid the game feeling repetitive, and keeps you on your toes.

In order to unlock everything in the shop, you need to collect coins in order to proceed. Unfortunately, there aren’t quite enough coins to let you unlock everything, which can stifle game play.

High quality graphics and audio

It’s not just the levels that are surprisinly well thought out. The graphics are high quality, the music is catchy, and the characters are fully voiced. It’s easy to think that a game named after a YouTube star might just be selling on name power alone, but this isn’t the case. The game has been carefully designed, and will probably appeal to both people who like PewDiePie, and those who don’t know him but are just looking for a fun action game to pass the time.

This game is overall good. It’s a fun way to pass the time, and creative. While you may not have enough coins to buy everything in the shop, there’s still lots of fun to be had with this game.
