Logjam is one of the most interesting gay lewd games I have played this year. This is brought to us by Robert Yang who has made some other fantastic gay themed games and I have to say that I think this one here might be my favorite. It is very short, but it is the kind of game that has a kind of mesmerizing aspect about it where you want to keep on playing and trying to get the best score you can and to also see that burly lumberjack in all his glory if you know what I am saying!

Chopping The USA

The plot of the game is hard to describe as if you were just to play Logjam without reading any of Robert Yang’s thoughts on why he created it. You would probably think it is nothing more than just a burly bear of a lumberjack chopping wood with no plot or point to it. However, I read the official blog and I found myself fascinated by the reasons that he created this game and the whole “symbolism” thing that he has going on here about accepting and hating yourself. It is very hard to put into words what this game is, but if you read his blog then play the game or play the game then read the blog, it all makes a great deal of sense and you realize that there is a fair bit of depth to what has been created here.

Choppy, Choppy!

The gameplay of Logjam is very simple, but I found there to be something very addictive in the simplicity. You basically chop wood and you do this by raising the axe and then pressing the button. To make things more “skill based” you have to time it so you strike the wood when the axe is in the middle, it is easier said than done, but once you find your groove, it is easy to get in a zen like state. Now, the game progresses through the day and as the day progresses, our lumberjack gets hotter and hotter and starts to take off his clothes! Not only this, he will start chopping other stuff than just the wooden logs, many of which are symbols to represent America and masculinity. It is the kind of thing that is hard to explain, but it all kind of makes sense when you play the game.

What To Chop When There Is Nothing Left To Chop?

The visuals of Logjam are pretty interesting. Our lumberjack is a big beefy and burly kind of dude who looks exactly like you would imagine a lumberjack to look like. I get a kind of Dreamcast vibe from the visuals of the game if that makes sense. The chopping action that you do is pretty smooth and the XXX content is good too, but the game does end on a rather downer which if I am being honest, I am not sure how I feel about it. I finished the game and then just jumped straight back in. In all, I like the way the game looks and think it all works in regard to what Robert Yang was going for with this game.

I know that at first glance, Logjam looks like a freaking weird and pointless kind of game, but I think that is part of the charm of this. It is a very simple, almost basic kind of game, but instead of just being about a big hairy lumberjack building up a sweat in the summer sun as he chops wood. There is a real metaphor here that I think is pretty interesting and once I did read the blog post Robert Yang put out, it made me appreciate the game even more.

Pros:

  • The lumberjack is one big burly dude
  • I liked the funny way his shirt would come off when he got hot
  • If you get a kick out of gay themed lewd games, you will like this
  • The whole backstory of why this game was created is fascinating

Cons:

  • Once you have played through it a couple of times, you have no reason really to come back
  • Without reading the backstory in regard to the motivation and creation of this game, it does not have the same appeal
