LEGO Bricktales

One of the best things a creative person can get is some LEGO bricks and start building whatever you want. It's amazing to see some of the creations builders can come up with using these plastic bricks. LEGOs are among the most beloved products in the toy industry, so much so that they've been adapted into shows, movies, and especially video games. This time we're talking about what could be one of the coolest titles based on LEGO we've seen. The name is LEGO Bricktales, a game developed by Clockkstone Software and published by Thunderful. But what is this game and what makes it special? Well, let's talk about it!

About the game

It's pretty curious to see that this game is going for a more logical approach than a lot of other video games based on the LEGO franchise. This time the franchise takes a distance from other big names it is usually associated with when it comes to video games and centers directly on itself. This game doesn't take you through a story nor does it recreate a movie, instead it celebrates creativity.

In LEGO Bricktales we are taken to five different environments with different themes and nature. In there we are served with an interesting mechanic that will give us a set amount of LEGO bricks. Using the provided pieces, we are to solve the puzzles on each level and find a way to proceed through the beautiful 3D levels brick by brick.

Each place, whether it is a dense jungle, a desert whose sand shines under the scorching sun, a medieval castle, or even a Caribbean island, will allow us to meet different characters that we will have to help. Build cranes and gyroscopes, physics-based puzzles and many pieces will serve to pose all kinds of challenges in LEGO Bricktales. Each biome will have its own challenges and it will be up to the player to solve them in one way or another.

Find your own way

As if it were a Captain Toad, LEGO Bricktales releases us in front of the beautiful dioramas through which we will walk with the certainty that we are going to be spellbound. With little details here and there, it is undoubtedly one of those games that enter through the eyes.

It is curious how the most logical approach that LEGO games could have has taken so long to arrive. LEGO Bricktales presents us with scenarios of little exploration that, little by little, will present us with puzzles of structures that we will have to build by hand.

The game is really beautiful in many ways, not only because of its beautiful visuals and design but also for its gameplay. We've seen other realistic video games based on LEGO, but pretty much none of them allowed the player the level of creativity we see in LEGO Bricktales.
