If you have a taste for incredible artwork or complicated mazes, you are in for a treat with Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective. This incredible game is launching June 22, and is a game both kids and adults will enjoy. The exquisitely drawn scenes allow you to explore the world while a story unfolds at the same time. In the story, Mr. X steals a magical artifact called the Maze Stone. This item turns the area around it into a labrynth. You must stop Mr. X before the whole world is turned into one giant maze.

The game looks like you have stepped into one of the storybooks, and that the drawings have come to life, while still keeping the beauty of the illustrations. If you enjoy relaxing gameplay, gentle puzzles, and hidden object games, Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective may be right up your alley.

A wealth of features

It’s not just beautiful artwork you’ll be treated to in this game. The developers took the storybook by the same name and brought it to life in a whole new way. There are 500 possible interactions between various characters, items, and scenery. There are also over 100 hidden objects, trophies, puzzles, and even mini-games to discover.

Passing through each maze, just looking at all the many things going on in the artwork can be a treat in and of itself. In one scene a ninja is climbing up the stairs, a girl has slid down the banister and knocked a piece of it off, a girl is rejecting a man’s advances, and a dinosaur is fighting a man. There’s so much to see you could get lost just looking at all the different things in the game, without so much as a single click.

Of course, clicking is half the fun, and the animations often make a comical scene even more hilarious. The game is like a cross between Hidden Folk and Where’s Waldo, but add in more refined artwork and a rich, original soundtrack.

Appropriate for all audiences

It can be difficult to find a game that even the youngest members of the family can get something out of, without boring the oldest members. This game was inspired by the award-winning illustrated books for children by the same name, and is thus just as engaging for children as it is for adults. If you’re looking for wholesome entertainment that engages minds of all ages, this is a great choice.

Interact through walking

One thing that confused some streamers who played the game in its early release is how you interact with the game. You control the game through walking up to an object, so if you click on it and you’re already there, you may be toggling it back and forth rather than getting a new reaction. Once you understand that clicking beyond walking up to something is unnecessary, the game is easy to control.

Since it isn’t yet released, it’s difficult to see what flaws there may be hidden in the game, but it appears to be a very high quality puzzler.
