Ever wanted to play a character action game, but you're only interested in the epic boss battles at the end of each stage? Then HUMANS CONNECT has got you covered. With a solid blend of 3D action and a great sense of style, this is one of those rare games that commits to a formula and gets it right in every way possible.

With every boss battle comes a unique set of challenges and tests that players will have to overcome using one of three playable characters available to them from the start. Do you have what it takes to beat this challenging yet rewarding title?

Power Gauntlet

The game's boss fights are the highlight of HUMANS CONNECT, with each one presenting a unique strategy to defeat them. Players will use different characters with various move sets, including dashes, dodging, teleport dodges, air combos, attacks while running, ranged attacks, a healing mechanic, a crazy combo mechanic that uses a full energy bar, and the guard/counter mechanic present in most fights' second phase.

With the bosses slowly getting new attacks and patterns, players will have a good time mastering each character and replaying the fights. It's a good thing that defeating bosses is the only way of progressing the story in HUMANS CONNECT, as you'll be doing that quite frequently in this game.

Uneventful Lore

While the game's storyline is ambitious, it falls short of delivering a compelling narrative. The game tries to tell a story, but it doesn't reveal much as of now, leaving players wanting more. Hopefully, the developer will expand on the game's events in future updates.

As mentioned before, defeating the game's bosses is the only way of progressing the story, which in this case equals unlocking pieces of lore about each one of the game's three playable characters. If you were looking for No More Heroes' levels of crazy lore, you will probably not find that here.

Hard to Follow

The game's controls are designed with a controller in mind, and playing with a PS4 or Xbox controller is the preferable way to experience the game. However, the keyboard and mouse controls aren't as fluid or enjoyable, making it a bit difficult to control the characters. Players who don't have a controller might find it frustrating to play.

Considering the game is a solo effort by developer Omar AlShaiji, the blueprints for greatness are all present here. Still, the game's still not there in terms of overall playability, and a bit of improvement to the presentation is in order if the developer hopes that players will fall in love with the mythos he has created.
