Harold Halibut

Aboard an ark-like ship, our protagonist Harold must go about his day to day activities while making as few mistakes as possible. As it progresses, Harold will come to discover the secrets that lie behind the scenes. This nautical adventure is one of its kinds and I am jazzed to tell you all about it. Get ready to hear about Harold Halibut from Slow Bros.

Story

In this nautical adventure, Harold works as a janitor while the ship is stranded on an alien world made of water. Harold is trying to assist the lead scientist with relaunching the ship and escaping the planet. There is also the chance for Harold to discover what happened to earth that was, but then again he could just spend all his time staring at fish.

Gameplay

The game seems to be a point and click adventure reminiscent of Little Nightmares with its unique approach to an art style. But there’s something odd and indefinable about it, something about its self reflective humour and retro adventure mechanics stirs up a very unique feeling. But its introspective errand running gameplay seems to be very unique. It’s hard to see the full picture of what sort of game we are looking at but there is clearly there is a lot of talking, walking, listening and discovering going on. It’s also said that Harold’s personality will change based on the choices you make, which will be very interesting to see.

The Style

The entire game is entirely based on stop motion animation. The designers built everything you see and then scanned it into their software. That is something I have personally never seen before. Created entirely out of craft supplies and then recreated digitally, the craftsmanship of this title is overwhelmingly impressive. It’ll be like playing a game designed like a Wes Anderson movie.
