Goblin Nest

I tend to find lewd management games to be a bit on the hit or miss kind of side, but Goblin Nest was a very welcome surprise. This ended up being a game that I got more and more into as I played it. It starts off a little slow and grindy, but if you stick with it, you will find this to be a great deal of fun, especially if you get a kick out of management games where you really do have to think before you act. So if you are not scared about doing a little grinding work in the beginning, I highly recommend that you give this game a try.

She Has Brought Us Back!

There is not exactly a ton of story going on here in Goblin Nest, but what is here is a lot of fun and something that I got a pretty big kick out of. Basically, goblins were thought to be wiped out, but the succubus Lilith has decided to bring them back; however, the goblin ranks are low, and this means that the goblins have to head out into the world, kidnap babes, and then breed them in their nest! It is a fun premise, and I found that the story was not taking itself too seriously, and as a result, it was kind of goofy. Oh, there is a twist in that Lilith is so impressed, she is willing to offer herself to the goblins.

We All Have To Start Somewhere!

The thing with Goblin Nest is that this is a real slow burn. You need to catch women from the local tribes, and then you bring them back to your nest so that you can tie them up in various positions so that you can bang them. The thing is, you need gold to make pretty much everything work, but the way that you get gold is very slow, as you only have a few goblins on hand as you start the game. I can see why, for some people the start of the game may be a bit too slow, and this can cause people to think that the game is a bit on the grindy side. However, for those who stick with it, they will find this to be a far deeper experience than they were expecting.

More Hands

What really surprised and impressed the hell out of me with Goblin Nest was just how deep the management aspect of things was. You may think that sending out goblins to get women, then banging the women, and then having more goblins is the gameplay loop. There is certainly that here. However, you have to maintain and clean your nest, which also costs resources, and it is a delicate balancing act. I found that trying to get as many goblins as you can at the start was the way to go. I got to a point where I had a crap load of goblins, and I was able to pretty much do what I wanted; however, it did take a while for me to get to that point. I did not so much see it as grinding, but more as being rewarded for putting the work in.

Lilith Is A Great Trophy!

I am a massive fan of what they did with the presentation of Goblin Nest. The game goes for a pixel art style, and this may sound weird, but the first thing that came to my mind when I played this was the old Star Wars game, Tiny Death Star. It has a ton of charm to it, and seeing the little pixel babes spread-eagled in your nest was something I thought was funny. However, there are larger and more detailed character pictures too. Lilith and the hot barbarian chick, for example, look awesome, and seeing these extra-detailed pixel art scenes felt like a nice reward for all the work that I was putting in.

Pros:

• I got a kick out of the premise of the story
• Lilith can call me anytime!
• I liked the deep management gameplay that was on offer
• The game is brought to life with some great pixel art

Cons:

• Some people may not like the slow start the game has
• It may seem a tad on the grindy side for some people
