Gakuen Heaven

Gakuen Heaven is a cute visual novel, and it is actually part of a pretty big franchise. If you are into fun boys love style visual novels, you will have a lot of fun with this.

Right School, Wrong Pupil

The main character of our story is a young man called Keita Ito, and he has found himself accepted to the prestigious BL Academy. The thing is, this school is home to students who all have some kind of special ability, something Keita does not! How will he find his way in this school full of cute guys, many of whom have taken a liking to him?

More Than Just A Story

While Gakuen Heaven is described as a visual novel, the story certainly is going to take up most of your time. There is more to the gameplay than just reading a story and making the odd choice at certain points. You see, there is an exploration element to the gameplay, where you can choose where you want to go, and there is also fun to be had in some surprisingly neat little mini-games that are here, too. In all, I was impressed with how much content there was here.

Hanging With The Boys

This is a great-looking game; you can play this on PC, but I ended up playing the PlayStation Vita version, and it looked great on that screen! There is a fantastic selection of cute guys for you to get to know, love, and even hate in some cases. The school setting is pretty nice, and there is just a very high level of polish to the game as far as the visuals go.

Pros:

• I thought this fancy school was a great setting
• The main character is very likable
• I liked that the gameplay had a bit of variety to it

Cons:

• You do need to be into BL games
• A bit more cinematic flair would have been nice
