FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Maiden of Black Water

The latest entry in the series FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Maiden of Black Water was originally launched back in 2014, but we'll see its release once again this October 28th. This new launch of the game will mark the future of the saga, as game director Keisuke Kikuchi has announced his desired to bring out new entries for the series if Maiden of Black Water is successful enough.

For those not familiar with the series, this game was originally launched for the Nintendo Wii U, but since the console was pretty much a commercial failure, even though the game got good reviews, it wasn't too successful. That's why the creators have decided to launch a remastered version for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

About the game

Mount Hikami is a place that was anciently considered to be sacred, and in past times people used to go deep in it to die in the waters of the mountain as a means to finally find some peace. But, the souls of those who started going there were those of desperate people that went just to commit suicide, turning this sacred place into a haunted, valley of horror.

At the beginning of the game, three people decide to infiltrate this place, Yuri Kuzokata, who can see paranormal beings; Ren Hojo, a writer that's researching the postmortem photographies in Mount Hikami; and Miu Hiasaki, a student that woke up in the water of the sacred mount without explanation.

They all have different motives to visit the place, and they all will find out that they're in for a horrific adventure. The most important object in the game is a camera with the ability to find objects and neutralize the entities that inhabit Mount Hikami

To make the effect of the camera more durable, you have to control the feat levels and get the clearest and most focused photography you can. Once you do, it will capture the energy of the ghost, and you’ll be able to touch them to find all the secrets about their deaths.

About the series

This entry comes with a little more than just enhanced visuals, it also has new clothes, and settings for the gameplay. It will also allow you to choose the camera settings and has a photo mode to have the ghosts pose for you on the photos.

All the entries in the series are centered around evil villages or cursed towns, and they all have specters, human sacrifices, ghosts, and much more. It has consolidated to be one of the most popular and bests horror/survival sagas around. Even up to the level of series like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

For the fans of horror games, this is ideal, each specter will not only attack you but also tell you the story behind their deaths and why they're haunting the place, which is without a doubt an incredible hook. Also, the main characters all have their unique stories with great development. And it will also get many new players interested in the series.
