Drago Noka

Drago Noka may have the most unique premise for a farming game that I have ever seen! As I write this, the game is still being worked on, but I have spent as much time with the demo of this game as I have some fully released games. I wanted to try and spread the word about this game a little bit as I have a feeling it could be a real surprise sleeper hit and find a pretty big audience if people are willing to give it a chance. I can tell you right now that there is not a farming game in the early part of 2023, I am more excited about than this!

Building A Civilization On The “Backs” Of Others

The story of Drago Noka is fantastic. The world that we know is no longer habitable because of these large dragons that rose and dominated the lands. The thing is, these dragons are so big that people are living on their backs! That is right, these dragons roam the lands and people are setting up large towns on the back of them as it is the only safe place to live. This is such a clever idea and something that makes this game so freaking cool.

New Location Same Problems

While I think that the setting and premise of Drago Noka is great, one thing that is interesting is that at its core, this is a classic farming and city building style of game. You will need to farm, build stuff, craft stuff, find resources, and so on. Look after livestock, build relationships with others, maybe start a family, and more. Pretty much what you are used to doing in classic farming games like Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons, you can do it here, but you are doing it all on the back of a dragon.

Welcome To My Town!

A huge part of the appeal to me about Drago Noka is the character dynamic. You will need to try and recruit new people to come and live on your dragon so that you can take advantage of their skills. The more skilled people that you have in your town, the better it is going to thrive. It is a fun thing and I like how there is always something for you to be working towards, it makes each thing you do in the game feel like it matters. Now, one area that I cannot speak a great deal about is the combat. As your dragon roams the land, it will come across other dragons and there is some turn based style combat here which gives this game a rather unique thing that not many other (if any) farming games have.

Look At That Blast Processing

Visually, I am absolutely loving what they are doing with Drago Noka. The actual farming aspect of the game has the look of a higher end Super Nintendo or Sega Mega Drive game. Heck, you could perhaps even say it has a bit of PlayStation or Saturn about it. It is that classic top down, 2D style that works so well with farming games. It does also have some nicely detailed character portraits and when the dragons fight, you get these nice big images of them which is cool to see. I also love how you can see the dragon's head from time to time as you are walking around your town.

Pros:

• It is a farming game set on the back of a dragon!
• It has many of the classic farming game features you would expect
• The dragon combat is very interesting
• I just love the whole style that this game has!

Cons:

• I have not been able to spend as much time with the dragon combat as I would like
• You need to like farming games to get into this
