Computer Repair Shop

Simulations are a dime a dozen, and games that simulate various careers are no different. That being said, it’s safe to say you’ve probably never played a game like Computer Repair Shop before. Computer Repair Shop puts you in control of a shady Computer Repair Person.

Instead of getting a computer and trying to fix it, you’re trying to con the person who has brought it to you. This includes swapping out good quality parts for bad ones, deliberately trying to dupe customers, and creating computer viruses.

The game also describes itself as an exploration game, which it does seem to fulfill. There are lots of places to go in the game, from your own personal shop to a decently sized city filled with shops and other important locations.

Lots of Things to Do

The developer, Cheesecake Dev, has included a surprisingly large number of things to do in the game. Not only are you buying, fixing and selling computers, but you’ll also have to clean up and take care of your shop. If clients are unhappy with you, you may have to ‘take care of them’ too—with a baseball bat. Gambling, robot wars and even a (bikini clad) private dance show is available. You’ll need cash for all those things, and you get that by ripping off customers.

You’re even welcome to steal your clients’ bank account details and take all their money or explore extremely dangerous areas. It’s up to you. This is partly based on learned skills as you go on, so it pays to pay attention as you play.

So-So Graphics

The graphics in this game aren’t going to win any awards. They do the job, but suffer from awkward animations, lack detail, and tend to be oversimplified. Despite this they aren’t terrible. They’re actually relatively similar to the game PC Building Simulator, but with a dirtier mood board. Sound is also fine in the game, but not perfect.

Navigation is Decent

Cheesecake Dev has a huge number of games under their belt. Their successful games have helped them quickly figure out what works and what doesn’t. Moving through menus and navigating the world is relatively easy, thanks to their straightforward navigation system. When hacking computers for example, players will move between several different boxes, using a key generator to get into a computer program for example.

There’s a shady way to do almost everything in this game, and the developers will delight in you finding them.
