In this cute RPG game, you play Lily, a powerful adventurer described by everyone’s favorite narrator, Grandpa. As the story unfolds, Grandpa explains key parts of the quest and storyline, guiding you along the path to defeat the Minotaur Prince.

The game features a classic top-down camera angle, and a retro 2d environment with pixelated cartoons for the backdrop and characters. On top of the art being very nice for the style, it should also be noted the animations are better than average for this type of game. Animations are generous throughout the game, smooth, and very well done.

Over 15 hours of gameplay

One of the chief complaints about the original game, Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King, was that it was too short. It’s evident that the developers listened to their fans with this next game in the series by adding many more dungeons for viewers to explore. The overall result is a game that lasts about 15 hours. While this is still a relatively modest amount compared to some of the longest games out there, it’s a decent amount for an RPG done in this style.

Variety in mob combat

Lily will find herself fighting against a wide variety of different creatures ranging from Dr. Hekyll the creepy scientist to the Old King. A nice feature of the game is instead of hacking and slashing your way through mob after mob that fights exactly the same way, you’ll be facing very different enemies.

Some mobs slash at you with weapons and require you to fight back, while others require more dodging than anything else. This variety in gameplay helps keep you on your toes so you never feel like the game is a grind.

Single-player

Although some players have speculated there will be multi-player elements to this game, it turns out the demo showing the brother in it isn’t a multiplayer option, but more of a Labyrinth reference important to the storyline. The game was inspired by Jim Hansen’s original tale, “The Labrinth,” with Lilly’s brother being stolen away by the Minotaur King. Lilly must travel across distant lands and fight monsters in order to save her brother and bring him home. Playtonic Friends, the publisher, confirmed this game was single player in a reply to a comment of one of the speculators gave.

If you are a fan of those old, Zelda style games of the past, this game is a great opportunity. The game is reasonably long for this style of game and has some wonderful aspects to it. If you’re a fan of RPG games, you’ll be excited to play Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince.

9

While this game doesn’t have multiplayer aspect, we can hope that in future games from this series the developers will keep their players wants in mind and make it their next development. In the mean time, this is a great game for players who love RPGs.
