Animal Revolt Battle Simulator

Man, Animal Revolt Battle Simulator is one of the craziest damn games that I have ever played! Seriously, this thing is nuts! No doubt you have heard of the other battle simulator game that was released a little while back. Well, what we have here is pretty much the same thing except this one is all about having giant or not so giant beasts going to war and fighting to the death!

Wait, There Is A Campaign?

I have to say that the fact there is a campaign in Animal Revolt Battle Simulator really took me by surprise. Now, this is not some Warcraft level campaign or anything like that, but I still like how there is a single-player campaign for you to play through. The way that the campaign works is that you need to, first of all, pick the right creatures for your army, you then need to place them in the right location and then manage them on the battlefield. It has a kind of strategy element to it and I found it pretty fun seeing which beats trumped other beasts.

Fight, Fight, Fight!

The whole point of Animal Revolt Battle Simulator is the huge battle arena sandbox that you have to play with. There are different maps that you can use and the idea is that you put armies of beasts or even just a couple of huge Godzilla style ones on there and you let them duke it out. The game has a kind of ragdoll physics thing going on so it can sometimes be pretty damn funny the way the fights go. It sounds like it would get old quickly, but there is just something so cool about putting beasts in a battle arena to fight to the death.

Playing God

There is a huge customization scene with Animal Revolt Battle Simulator. While there are plenty of creatures for you to select and play around with. You can also build your own beats with this block based system of parts. Sometimes it will work and you create a truly powerful and awesome beast like one of the monsters out of something like Pacific Rim, other times you create an abomination that you just have to put down! You can also make your own arenas too, plus it has Steam Workshop support and the community has created some pretty crazy stuff for this game!

Getting Your Hands Dirty

Now, while much of what you will be doing in Animal Revolt Battle Simulator is watching these epic battles take place. You can also get onto the battlefield yourself and it turns into a first-person shooter. You have a decent selection of weapons and I find going to a map, throwing a bunch of creatures onto it, and just trying to see how well me and my shotgun do is a ton of fun. This is probably what I have spent most of my time doing in this game.

Pros:

• Even without you making stuff, there is a lot of creatures and maps to play with
• I liked the campaign
• It is cool how you can get on the battlefield and try to survive!
• The community has made some really cool stuff for this game

Cons:

• I do think that they could have put an epic story in the campaign
• I am not very good at making creatures, but to be fair that is on me!
