Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority-

Having been out in Japan for a little while now, Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- has managed to make its way to the West and I could not be any more excited. I am sure that this is going to be a game that builds up a real cult following once it is fully released and out of early access. I wanted to take a closer look at the game today in order to get a few more of you guys excited about it. From what I have seen from the Japanese version of the game, we are in for a real treat with this game.

A Game Of Life And Death!

A huge part of the appeal of Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- has to be the story. Our main character is a high school student called Sara and one night she ends up knocked out and when she comes to, she is in a strange place with her friend, Joe as well as nine other people. It at first seems like a random assortment of people, but as the night progresses, they soon realize they have more in common than they thought.

Doing The Right Thing

I said that Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- is a game of life and death and that is literal. You see, the people are being forced to play this sadistic game where they must make tough choices and try and figure out what the right thing to do is. There is a real morality thing at play here and your choices can have very big implications for the way things move forward for certain characters. So much so that this game has a ton of replay value as there are many different endings.

Do You Want To Play A Game

Not only was that a clever reference to Saw, but Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- does in some ways feel like it was greatly inspired by the Saw movies. You get to make key choices about who should do what, but there are also mini style games that you may be forced to do yourself. I would say that a visual novel is kind of the best way to describe the core gameplay, but it is actually far more than that.

Mario Paint!

Ok, so the game does not look like it was made with Mario Paint, but Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- does have a very interesting art style that makes me think of an art program like you would get on a PC. It is hard to explain, but everything in the game looks like it was hand painted. It is a very striking art style and they make great use of color and lighting to really amp things up when they need to. I was very impressed with how much emotion they were able to display on the character's faces as this gets you even more invested in what is going on.

Pros:

• This is the Western version of an awesome Japanese game
• It has a great “Saw” like story
• There are many different endings
• I just love the whole mystery about what is going on here

Cons:

• Some of the themes in the game may be a bit dark for some
• The Japanese version took forever to get new chapters, I hope that is not the case here
