A Slice Of Life And A Slice Of Pizza

Ok, so I have never been to Italy, and before Vacation Cafe Simulator, most of what I “know” of Italy came from Football Italia that I used to watch here in the UK, the episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond when they go to Italy, and also the Disney movie Luca. However, this game is pretty much exactly what I imagine going to a little corner of Italy would be like. The premise of this game is that we have this adorable little café, and we are trying our best to live out our Italian dream of making the best food around and putting smiles on our patrons' faces.

When The Moon Hits The Sky

As is the case with most simulator style games, Vacation Cafe Simulator has you starting off with rather humble beginnings. The idea is that you build your café up slowly over time. As you make more money, you are able to expand your café and truly make it something that you have always envisioned. The game has a fantastic sense of progression; expansion is not instant, but something new and better always feels like it is right around the corner. You can change the décor, get better and new ingredients, and of course, learn new things to make as well. The game has some of the chilliest vibes that I have seen in a video game this year.

Slicing And Dicing

The “gameplay” here is a lot of fun. I am a huge Italian food fan with pizza and pasta, and meatballs easily being two of my favorite cheat day meals! Vacation Cafe Simulator has you making the food with a series of mini-games. For example, you have to roll the pizza dough, spread the cheese, put the toppings on, and so on. As well as food preparation, you have to head to the local market to get the food you need to make tasty dishes. At first, you are rather limited, but more will open up in time. This is clearly designed with being a cozy game in mind, and you never feel rushed, no matter if a customer wants a pizza, a nice cup of tasty Italian style coffee, or even if they need a little fancy prosecco to take the edge off.

Italy Is Gorgeous

I have played a ton of cozy games, and the wholesome and relaxing vibes that I am getting from Vacation Cafe Simulator are some of the best that I have ever had! This is a great looking game, and the way you can turn your café into this charming little place is awesome. However, it is Italy itself that is the real star here. From exploring the surrounding areas so that you can get the ingredients you need, to the stuff you can see in the background. The way that this game puts you at ease and just makes you relax is very well done, and it is all because of the ambiance that the game creates.

• This makes me want to empty my bank account and take a trip to Italy!
