To Pixelia

If you love getting lost in life sims, To Pixelia could very well be your next favorite game. This is just awesome stuff and I have not been this hooked by a game of this style since I spent some considerable time in a valley that is under the stars, if you catch what I am saying! This just takes many elements of other popular life and cozy sim games and merges them all together in one pixel themed package that is just a ton of fun to play. I have been messing with this on my Steam Deck and it has become my go to game to play as I am laying in bed before sleep.

The Perfect Pixel Life

The premise of To Pixelia is pretty awesome. You live in this charming little town and you just go about create your perfect life. The twist here is that there are so many things that you can do. You can raise a family, work a normal job and try to climb that ladder. However, you can also do other things like hit the streets hard and be some kind of hacker! Perhaps you want to be a basketball star and win peoples hearts that way? Maybe you just want to work hard and build some kind of business or property empire? The thing I can say is that no two play throughs of this game will ever be the same.

Being Your Own Person

The first thing that you are tasked with doing in To Pixelia is creating your little character. What I liked about this was the insane amount of choice that they offered the player. I am not just talking about the way your character looks, which is awesome by the way as there is just so much choice here, you can pretty much create a little pixel character of anyone your desire or you can come up with your own character. In addition to the look of your character, you can also pick their personality trait as well and give yourself something to start from. Honestly, I have played a ton of life sims and this is one of the better more in-depth character creator suits I have experienced.

Playing Sports, Fighting And Hanging With The Fam

The way that you end up playing To Pixelia could be completely different to the way that I play the game. I went the sports star route, but this game has so many mechanics, despite the many hours I have poured into it, I probably have still not seen a great deal that it has to offer. Think of games like Stardew Valley, Story of Seasons and even a bit of the early Grand Theft Auto games and you will have an idea of what to expect. You can do all the wholesome stuff, but you can also get into fights, find loot, haul ass in your car around the city. There is just so much to do in this game that I have had a hard time fighting the urge to start a whole new save with a completely different character. If you like life sim games that let you truly feel like you are living a digital life, this is one of the better games that I have played of this genre over the last few years.

A Smoother Kind Of Pixel

While the title of the game is To Pixelia, this is not done in an 8-bit kind of style like you may be expecting with a title like this. I would say that it is like a half way point between the original Grand Theft Auto games and something like Stardew Valley. Although the characters here are a little smaller and smoother in their pixel art. The game just has a ton of personality, while I have mainly played this on my Steam Deck, I can still make out all of the little details and I think that the game just oozes charm. I liked the various locations that the game had to offer and it is the kind of thing that will just make you smile as you progress through your new digital life.

• I loved the sports aspect of my playthrough
• You can raise a family and build a real life in this game
• I found the whole thing to be very charming

• Of course, you do need to be into life sims and cozy games to like this

To Pixelia is an adventure RPG set in a pixelated world. Players find themselves in the town of Pixelia, where they begin their journey to help the locals and uncover the secrets of the surrounding world. The protagonist faces various quests and puzzles, explores a variety of locations and interacts with numerous characters. You are waiting for turn-based action battles with various monsters and bosses, requiring a strategic approach and the use of various skills.
