The entirety of The Dragoness: Command of the Flame takes place on the Draithir Peninsula. You’ll begin your adventure in Niwenborh, one of the unfortunate locations that drew the angry dragons’ ire and also the capital of Draithir. Through many quests and the collection of powerful allies, you will rebuild Niwenborh and restore it to its former glory.

However, don’t make the mistake of thinking this will be an easy task. On your adventure, you will encounter all manner of beasts, manage limited resources, and find yourself in battles where your own tactical mind will be more valuable than the gear you have to fight with. Careful decision-making and smart resource management will be the only way to complete your quest.

Turn-Based Tactician

The Dragoness: COmmand of the Flame uses a classic turn-based battle system that will be familiar for anyone who has played a Heroes of Might and Magic game. You’ll need a sound tactical mind to conquer the enemies you’ll face in this game, and the challenge will only increase the more you progress.

But, you won’t be fighting as a human soldier. Throughout the game, you will amass an army of beasts that fall under your control and serve as your warriors. Different units interact with others positively or negatively depending on the situation, so you’ll have to experiment to see the results of those actions.

Victory Through Defeat

Each loss in battle shouldn’t discourage you. They merely serve as lessons that you can use going forward until you’ve mastered the mechanics and know exactly how to direct your beast army. This is the core concept of roguelites: stronger through every failure.
