The Caligula Effect 2 is the sequel to a 3DS game published by Nippon Ichi Software, and was created by the developer Historia Inc. Originally released on the PlayStation Vita. It eventually came out on the PC and Nintendo Switch platforms as well. Released in October 2021, under the Unreal Engine 4 the game was received with generally positive reviews.

A Sci-Fi Reality Warping Adventure

The Caligula Effect 2 is a role-playing game that takes place in a virtual world called Mobius. However, unlike your everyday RPG where you usually have a main town or hub for completing missions, this one uses a school as its central area. This means that you will have to visit many classrooms throughout the course of your adventure. You will then leave the school to access other areas of Mobius; most classes have a portal in them that can be entered to go outside of the school.

You play as a student trapped in Mobius who must take part in this twisted school life while fighting against your adversaries known as "Shadows". As you progress through The Caligula Effect 2, you'll learn about your past experiences and why you are trapped within this virtual world. Another thing about this game is that battles are turn-based and occur in real time depending on when each character attacks or not.

A Strange Time and Tale

The game developers are known for They're also known for their bizarre stories that rarely ever make any sense and feature characters who speak in philosophical hyperbole. Some people love this kind of thing; others find it insufferable. You'll learn about it all through conversations with other students at Mobius Academy High School and from people who have been there before you

As in the previous entries the game does an excellent job at capturing its story through music, dialogue choices, graphics and gameplay mechanics all working together to form an enjoyable experience while giving players enough freedom so they could use these tools to create their own unique playthroughs each time they played it again (which was highly recommended).

Let's talk about how Caligula 2 handles its dungeons. In general, they're much less linear than in most JRPGs where you progress from room-to-room fighting enemies before getting locked out by a door or other obstacle until you get enough experience points and items back at town (if there even is one). Instead, each dungeon has a big open space with multiple paths leading deeper into it.

Conclusion

The Caligula Effect 2 is a game that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys turn-based combat or roleplaying games. It has a good story with lots of different characters and ways to play. The dungeons are fun and challenging, which makes it very replayable! If you're looking for something new then this may be the perfect fit for you!
