If you are a fan of games that force you to think on your feet and use your weapons intelligently, you might love SYNTHETIK 2. This title is the sequel to the original game by FireFlowInc, and has been developed with a very interesting build upon what made the original so hugely popular. If you are looking for a game to try out that puts you in a position where you need excellent gun play and intelligent reactions, then you should take a look at SYNTHETIK 2. Is this a release that you will enjoy, though?

Is there enough in SYNTHETIK 2 to make it worth playing over its highly rated prequel?

Isometric chaos with plenty to love

Set to be released in August 2021, SYNTHETIK 2 has been delayed numerous times. However, fans of the series and the wider roguelike genre are sure to find a very interesting game waiting for them when it does come out. Can you overcome the Heart of Armageddon? You will need to try it out for yourself to see what you can do.

The top-down shooter style paired with the roguelike nature of this game means that this is a very interesting Early Access title. The game reminds users of other popular top-down shooters such as Helldivers, albeit it comes with a different gameplay loop and overall style.

One thing to immediately note about this title, though, is the fact that it comes with a new progression system. Promising ‘infinite replay value’ by the developers, this is a game that should live up to that promise with plenty of new ways to wipe out the machine enemies that you come up against.

The developers have also been at pains to suggest that SYNTHETIK 2 will build on the lore and story of the original, so we might find out a bit more about the interesting world and concept that this game has inhabited for so long.

An isometric roguelike shooter – is that enough?

Given we have yet to see what SYNTHETIK 2 can truly bring to the table, it’s an Early Access title with plenty of potential. The original game was well-loved, and if this can build on the same kind of themes and ideas as the original then we could be in for a true winner.

However, one point of concern is the numerous delays that have taken place during development. Previously stated for a June release, the game is now releasing a little later than intended. This could, though, be a good thing as it allows for more polish. With such big boots to fill in the form of the original, though, can SYNTHETIK 2 live up to expectation?
