Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition brings back all the characters that you know and love, much like any console version, and has you fighting through all of them to be the best. Utilizing 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional visuals with excellent controls, this game makes for one of the best instalments of the series, and provides it a firm place in the genre as a whole. Gameplay

This is a fighting game through and through, and with that comes some expectations as to what one can hope to see the gameplay comprise itself of. If you are a fan of the Street Fighter franchise, you’ll know that the gameplay falls into learning button combinations that allow you to string a series of attacks together and defeat the enemy without really giving them a chance to fight back. There are a lot of fighting techniques for you to learn, various different ways to fight with a huge roster of characters who can fight with drastically different styles to each other. When you find a character who’s attacks you like, start learning everything you can about them and start trying out some combos. Tekken 7 also has a similar playstyle.

There are a handful of special attacks that you can perform through inputting specific combos. Many of the characters have a unique attack each and several variations that increase in difficulty to perform but also increase in damage dealt after they have been unleashed. Which is a slight departure from games like Dead or Alive 5, but still shares a lot of similarities otherwise.

Visuals

The visuals of this title are brilliant for their time and the console that they were originally created for. Everything looks nice and is well-designed, easy for players of all ages to get the hang of moving through the menus and in the matches. If you like games with a strong visual flare, you’ll love this game as many of the attacks with release energy beams that fill the screen. Hitting and defeating your enemy shows a large visual effect to show the damage. The action is very easy to follow thanks to these stylistic choices.

The stages and backgrounds are brilliantly rendered and sufficiently different from each other while retaining an excellent use of set pieces and colors.

Modes

There are two primary modes in this game: Single player and multiplayer. The latter supports online play and local play, allowing you to throw down with people all over the world or the guy sitting next to you. There is also a section of other modes like Team Battle, Replay Channel and Rival Battles. These offer some interesting choices and replay value to the game, keeping you engaged for hours at a time.
