Succubus Forest

Surely, this game takes the cake for having the most descriptive title ever. Succubus Forest ~A game where you will be covered in pleasure by naughty monster girls~ plunges you into a world where adorable monster girls can’t wait to please your needs – but first, you have to do the usual RPG hero stuff you’ll find in most Japanese RPG titles.

Surprisingly, the game is a card battler RPG with a deceptively deep gameplay that’s certainly not fit for newcomers to the genre. Sure, it might be a porn game at heart, but the developers went the extra mile to turn Succubus Forest into a delightfully addictive RPG experience where the cute girls are just the cherry on top of a deliciously designed adventure game.

Forest of Desires

In the game, you play as a valiant hero who ventures into a corrupted forest to stop the relentless attack of the succubi. For some reason, no other villager in town wanted to go near the cursed forest filled with voluptuous women – their loss. In the depths of the forest, you find that more monster girls live here: think Corruption of Champions, but with fewer furries.

When I noticed Kagura Games published the game, I was expecting a visual novel, like their Summer Memories series. However, Succubus Forest is much more than just your usual point-and-click affair.

Card Games And Monster Girls

Like Slay The Spire and even Balatro, Succubus Forest is a roguelike card battler. Your deck determines the type of actions your character can take – which, in this case, aren’t always “offensive” in the usual terms. Use your imagination for that one. That said, for a porn game, Succubus Forest has a surprisingly deep deck-building gameplay that’s sure to keep you hooked.

One thing to note is that the game takes its gameplay very seriously. That’s both a blessing and a curse – or at least it can be so for some players. You see, going by the title, it might seem as if this is your average hentai game, but it takes so long to get to the “good stuff,” it might as well not be there at all.

Play Your Cards Right

For a game about succubi and monster girls, Succubus Forest is surprisingly tame. In my time with it, I never ran across the kind of scene that would get you kicked out of a public library. That said, the pixel art is certainly gorgeous, making the game feel like a more polished indie darling compared to other erotic games.

Like Stellar Blade or Goddess of Victory: Nikke, it’s clear the developers of Succubus Forest wanted to make a game that feels good to play first and foremost. The cute girls are just there to keep some players hooked – and I, for one, am thankful for that.
