Steel Division: Normandy 44 - Second Wave is an action packed DLC pack for Steel Division: Normandy 44. If you already are a fan of the base game, you are going to go nuts for this DLC. It adds in some awesome new content, but also gives the AI some really smart tweaks as well.

Enter The Battle!

The main reason that you will want to check out Steel Division: Normandy 44 is that it is offering four awesome new divisions to the game. There are two for the allies and two for the axis so there is a fair mix for you to play around with there.

The four new divisions in the game are The 4th Armored, 16. Luftwaffe-Felddivision, 1st Special Service Brigade and the 9. Panzer. Now what is great about these is that they walk a very fine line of being overpowered and also being able to be ripped apart! This is great as it means in the right hands each of the new divisions can be truly devastating and on the flip side of this. Each division has major weaknesses that can be exploited with a bit of hard work and clever thinking.

Units Galore!

Of course, with four brand new divisions to play with, you have a ton of new units that you can make use of. There are over 30 new units as part of this DLC! They each have their own feel as well so what you like will probably be different from what I like. I love the heavy-duty missiles the Royal Marine Commandos can fire into battle to keep an area clear for a short while.

Some divisions do have more units than others, but I think overall there is a great selection of units all around and this is what makes playing as these new divisions a great deal of fun.

Fun On Your Own

As far as under the hood changes go in Steel Division: Normandy 44 - Second Wave I think the biggest one has to be to the AI. While I liked the original Steel Division: Normandy 44 I think that the AI made playing the game by yourself not as much fun as it should have been. Do not get me wrong, online the game was awesome! Playing just against the AI though would often lead to you shaking your head at some of the just dumb moves they would make.

In this DLC, I feel they have tightened the thing up to the point where the AI is actually going to put up a fair fight and really make you sweat. This, of course, makes you an even better player when it comes to playing online.

I really like this DLC. Some DLC can be a cash grab, but I think that Steel Division: Normandy 44 - Second Wave is bringing a ton of awesome stuff here that makes it well worth the money. The new divisions and units are great and there is a huge amount to wage war with! The under the hood changes that have been made do make the overall game a much more fun experience.
