Soup Pot

Soup Pot is the latest of many cooking games that has managed to pique my interest. It is kind of funny really as I am a pretty terrible cook in real life, but in the world of video games, it is something that I really do enjoy. This game is a lot of fun in that you are trying to make it big as some kind of cooking streamer and you have a lot of freedom about the way you go about doing this.

If You Cook It They Will Come!

The idea of the game is that you need to try and build your audience up gradually. Soup Pot has us playing as a streamer/blogger or whatever you want to call it who is trying to get noticed by the epic food that they make.

People who follow you are going to be quite interactive as they give you encouragement and praise about what you are doing. Also, they will not be shy about letting you know if they do not like what you are doing either.

Soup Bae

There are a ton of different recipes in this game, they say that there are actually over 100 of them and the guidelines for making each one in Soup Pot are not set in stone and more there just to put you in the right direction. The cuisine that you will be making is mostly South East Asian based and that is pretty cool. You select what you are going to try and make and it will give you the recipe, but you are free to experiment and try different things as you go. This level of freedom can lead to you making something new and amazing or something not so great which is a lot of fun.

The Joy Of Cooking

Soup Pot has many different ways that you can cook. Once you select your ingredients, you need to then take care of them and make sure they are added to the pot properly. This means you get to do things like grill, bake, mix, slice, and much more. This is all done in an easy to learn way so the game is very good for those that want something that is quick to pick up and play. It is far more interactive than you would think, but not at the expense of being accessible to everyone.

Magic In The Kitchen

When you see the screenshots or some video of Soup Pot, you may think that this is all serious and no fun, but that is not the case.

The different food items are actually pretty playful as they call out their name as if they were Pokémon when you add them to what you are making! The whole game has a lot of charm to it and the music is just perfect and fits in with the fun style of the game really well.

Pros:

• The game has a fair bit of whimsy about it
• I like the way cooking is so interactive
• There are many different dishes you can make
• You are free to experiment with your cooking

Cons:

• This still does not have a release date!
• Hopefully, they will add recipes from other parts of the world too
