Solas City Heroes

If you love beat em ups and lewd games, Solas City Heroes is at the very least worth messing around with and seeing if it clicks for you. I love this genre, I grew up with all the greats from the 80s and 90s, and a certain heroes in a half shell foursome are actually from one of my favorite games of all time, which is a classic beat em up, like what we have here. Only here, there are boobs, bondage, and lots of sex. This is not a perfect game, but to be honest, this is a genre where, when you really think about it, more get it wrong than get it right, but even a bad beat em up can be fun.

This Is My Brutality!

Before I get into the game, let me start by saying that Solas City Heroes has a truly awesome create a character system! They give you a ton of options here, from clothing to body proportions, and if you spend some quality time with this, you can pretty much make who you want. I ended up playing through most of the game with my awesome Rhea Ripley looking badass, not to toot my own horn, but she looks just as good as she does in WWE 2K25. I think I probably spent as much time with the character creation suite as I did the actual game!

Guardians of the City

As the title, Solas City Heroes, suggests, the setting for the game is a city called Solas. This is a weird digital city that is run by a crime organization, and we need to put a beating on all these punks to clean up the streets. I get that this may seem shallow, but I feel this is by design. Think of some of the classic beat em ups like Streets of Rage 2 and Final Fight, they have a very similar plot, it is like something from a '70s or 80s action movie, and I kind of dig that. One thing that is kind of neat is that while the story is pretty linear, the game does allow the player to make a few choices here and there, which I thought was nice, as it did at the very least make the story a bit more interactive.

Live By The Fist, Die By The Fist!

When it comes to beat em ups, it is all about the gameplay. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time is the greatest beat em up of all time, but it is so hard to put into words what makes the gameplay there so great. Solas City Heroes is like one of the mid-tier beat em ups. It is certainly not bad, but even though it has a skill tree and a progression system. The actual fighting feels very one-dimensional, and you end up just doing the same boring attacks over and over again. However, the main problem is the various bugs and issues that the game has. Enemies can get stuck, forcing you to restart. The hit detection is very iffy; if there are more than two enemies coming for you at once, you are screwed, as enemy attacks can break up an attack of yours.

Getting Down On The Dirty Streets

Hey, while I would never say that Solas City Heroes is one of the best-looking beat em ups that I have played, I kind of like it at the same time. It reminds me of the game Fighting Force in how it looks. The big draw here is, of course, the character creation and how good that system is. However, this is a lewd game at the end of the day, and that means we have to talk about the lewd content, and this is a lot of fun. I was very impressed with how many different XXX scenes there were in the game and the way that they are tied into the beat em up action.

Pros:

• The create a character stuff is awesome
• The storyline is kind of fun and lets you make choices
• You can tell that there is a good game in here somewhere
• I have played way worse beat em ups, that is for sure!

Cons:

• The gameplay has some serious issues that can lead to frustration
• The whole game feels like it needs more time in development
