Secrets of Whispering Pines

Secrets of Whispering Pines is a game that feels like it was made for me. I would say that this is a horror/thriller game with a bit of sex in it and not a full on lewd game with horror elements if that makes sense. With that being said, if you are into horror and slasher movies, you are the kind of person that this game is aimed at. Do not get me wrong, it is not perfect, but I had a lot of fun with this and found myself genuinely interested in finding out what was really going on here.

A Sheriff With A Past

I would say that the story of Secrets of Whispering Pines is like a mixture of Friday the 13th and Twin Peaks and that is a combination that I am all about. We play as a Sheriff who has his daughters at Camp Whispering Pines, but there is a killer on the loose and the killer has ties to the Sheriffs life! This got me interested right away, from meeting and saving new characters, to flashbacks, there is a great deal going on with the story and I found it all very interesting and made sure to take my time and really read each piece of text.

Your Own Kind Of Law Man!

The kind of person that you decide to play the sheriff as in Secrets of Whispering Pines is up to you. I decided to go the heroic route and do the right things and try to be a good man. You can be “eviler” and make some very questionable decisions that will alter the way things go. If you have played any kind of lewd visual novel game before this, you are going to feel right at home with the gameplay on offer here. I think it is neat that we have a couple of ways we can play as the Sheriff.

Horny Goings On In The Cabin

I like how they went for a more realistic look with the renders in Secrets of Whispering Pines. The game has pretty much every trope you have ever seen in a slasher movie or TV show before, but I got a real kick out of that. The character models look great and while there is some lewdness here, it is not all that the game is about. As I said, this is not a sex game, think of it as a horror game with some sex in it. Most good horror and slasher movies, especially those with a younger cast have the characters getting to all kinds of sexy hijinks and that is the case here too.

Pros:

• I loved the story that the game told
• There are some quirky and interesting characters in this game
• I love the realistic look of the renders
• You can pick how you want to portray the Sheriff which is neat

Cons:

• I do wish there was a bit more animation
• There is not actually a ton to the gameplay if I am being honest
