Regret Island

While there is not a ton of content in lewd RPG, Regret Island, as I write this, it is showing a ton of promise, and I had a lot of fun with the game, and even though it does dive into some pretty hardcore subjects, it is all handled really well. The point of the game is giving in to lust and depravity, and that is something I think comes across right from the moment you start playing the game. At the moment, you can play the prologue and then mess around a little with the free play stuff, but the developer is hard at work adding more content, so there may be more to the game by the time you play it.

An Island of Sin

How many lewd games take place on a weird island? Well, Regret Island is another one you can add to that list. The plot revolves around this family with a pretty hot daughter that have decided to take a trip, and on this trip, they decide to make a stop on an island, and it is here they discover that there is an old man and things on this island seem to be driving them wild with lust. Lust and depravity, as I said in the intro, appear to be the real themes driving this thing forward, and seeing characters give in to their carnal desires is a good idea for a story.

Less Is More…. Sometimes

Granted, the story is still being worked on as I write this, but Regret Island does do something very cool with the way it tells its story, and that is not to overexplain everything. I have played way too many porn games that like to go into immense detail about the most insignificant things. That is not the case here; the developer tells you what you need to hear, and that is it. However, you never feel lost or like you do not know what is going on. I hope that they keep this writing style going as the game moves along in development.

The Island of Lust

The XXX content going on here is pretty wild. To start with, Regret Island goes for an animated kind of vibe, and that is awesome, as it does look like a cartoon. This is the kind of game that is not meant to be taken seriously. I say this because the penises in this game are comically huge and there is even some scenes where lust is so high, the animals on the island are fair game… yeah, this stuff is not for me, but I think it is meant in a tongue in cheek way, that is the way I took it at least. I can see why it would be a turn-off for some people, though, but as the game is done in a more cartoon, almost comedic art style, I am willing to give it a pass.

Putting the Pieces Together

The version of Regret Island that I played was rather light on content, but I can see the bones for something pretty awesome here. This is an RPG porn game in that you have to manage your stats, there is a social system and there is even an active time battle combat system, something similar to what we had in Final Fantasy VII. There are numerous characters that you can interact with, and the choices you make will drive things forward. There are some real stakes in this game, too, as characters can actually die; this will really make you think about what you are doing. I only had the chance to play the opening of the game and the free roam stuff after this, but as things are added and fleshed out, I can see this truly being something very special.

Pros:

• The story has something about it that had me interested from the start
• There is a lot of crazy XXX content here
• I got a kick out of the over-the-top art style of the game
• They have a lot of great and grand things planned for this game

Cons:

• The stuff with the dog and the horse may be a bit much!
• As of writing, there is not a lot of content here to experience
