Parasite in City Remake

While lurking around the lewd game section, Parasite in City Remake popped up onto my radar, and I was struck with a real sense of familiarity! I actually played the original version of this a while back, and I remember thinking that it was a very fun time. I will be honest, I am not exactly sure that this is a game that required a remake, but that is just the way the game industry is these days! Anyway, as I remembered liking the original version, I was pretty excited to jump in and see what had changed here.

Here We Go Again

Ok, I will admit, it was quite some time ago that I played the original game, so off the top of my head, I cannot say for sure how different the Parasite in City Remake is from the remake. I can say that the story is pretty similar in that we play the role of a cute girl who has awoken to find herself that there has been some kind of apocalyptic event, and now the world is being overrun by these zombie like monsters. The game, to be fair, from what I remember, does seem to flesh things out a little more.

More Than Brains!

One thing that is kind of fun about things in this zombie apocalypse that Parasite in City Remake has going on is the fact that these zombies are not like all the rest! These are horny zombies, and they are filled with a real lust rage! Think of the movie, 28 Days Later, but the zombies are super horny instead of just wanting to rip you apart! Do not get me wrong, these zombies are hungry too, but they want to ravage your body before they chow down on you.

Getting Ready For Action

With Parasite in City Remake being a 2D survival action game, you may be expecting this to be some kind of running and gunning, almost like a XXX Metal Slug game! However, while it does have 2D action and even a bit of platforming. This game also has survival elements at play. You cannot just start shooting like a maniac; the game forces you to be a bit more conservative, and it does have a slightly slower pace than you may be expecting. Rather than being a negative, I think that this works to the game's advantage, actually, and makes it a more fun and interesting game to play. To be honest with you, the original controlled well enough and had a decent amount of content. This changes things around a little, but from what I remember, it does not appear to have a ton more content.

So This Is The Difference

I always thought that the original game looked great, but the main difference I noticed with Parasite in City Remake was the visuals. The original game had a lewd 2D pixel art thing going on and it looked fantastic. However, here, things are much more smoothed out, giving it a more modern 2D look. Hey, at the end of the day, I feel that it is a personal preference thing in regards to which style you like the best. Of course, with these zombies being horny, if they get a hold of you, you are getting banged in some pretty gruesome ways!

Pros:

• I liked the smoother visuals the remake offered
• This is a pretty interesting zombie apocalypse story
• The gameplay is quite challenging, and I liked that
• There are some pretty gnarly, gory scenes in the game!

Cons:

• For a remake, apart from the visuals, not a ton has changed
• If you did not like the original game, I cannot see this winning you over
