Marvel Comics Spider-Man: The Sinister Six

Overview

Spiderman: The Sinister Six is an adventure title from Byron Preiss Multimedia, based on the popular Stan Lee/Marvel Comics character. In essence, the game is like one of those books where you choose which path to follow, then jump to the right page to see if you died or nabbed the pot of gold. Most of your task will be selecting which piece of dialogue to say to which character, trying to get the reaction that might give you an important clue or give you access to the next area. There are a few scenes where you'll get to do a little mouse-driven combat or puzzle solving, but for the most part, you just kind of click through the story.

Recommendation

I would say if you're under 13 and have little computer gaming experience, you might enjoy it. The story is passable as a comic book story, and some of the action would be mildly challenging for a young gamer. If you're older -- or younger but a video game veteran -- it might not titillate you. Oh yeah, and if you're really into Marvel Comics or Spiderman in general, you might get it just for your collection's sake. It's kind of kitschy, and the box is cool ...
