Klaroro - Abyss of the Soul

How the heck did I not know that Klaroro - Abyss of the Soul was a thing? This is an awesome lewd pixel art 2D action game that is probably one of the best blind plays that I have had when it comes to lewd games over the last few years. To say that I was hooked on this game is a massive understatement. I could easily see myself coming back to this, time and time again, over the years. It is a pretty short experience, but that works to its advantage as by the time you get to the end of it, you have a big smile on your face and are ready to get going again.

Who Ya Gonna Call?

Ok, so I have probably used that Ghostbusters reference before, but it is a classic so it is ok. Klaroro - Abyss of the Soul is not the most story-driven game out there, but it more than gets the job done. We play the role of some kind of dweeb loser who manages to find themselves in a fantasy land that is home to all kinds of hot monster girl type characters, and they are not too happy to see us! While this may sound bad, we have a magical phone (perhaps the same one as in the awesome Kirby and the Amazing Mirror) which allows us to hypnotize these angry babes!

Rushing Those Bosses

While at first glance you may think that Klaroro - Abyss of the Soul is a 2D action platformer, you would only be half right. You see, this game gives you a series of bosses to fight; there are seven (if I am remembering right) fantasy monster babes for you to take on, and the boss fights have stages that you need to fight through in order to defeat them. That is pretty much the whole game; the whole game is a boss rush mode. Honestly, this felt like a breath of fresh air, and I was more than ok with it just being a series of boss fights. You are probably looking at around an hour, tops to defeat all the bosses. The thing is, it is so much fun, firing this up and just taking on a couple of bosses is always going to be a fun time.

Kinda Souls Like

Ok, I know that the term Souls Like is overused to the max, but I do think that Klaroro - Abyss of the Soul is close to being classed as a Souls Like game because of the way the boss battles happen. As I said, the boss fights have stages to them where they will change up their attacks. For me, the real challenge here was using your phone that fills up so you can blast them with your hypnotism phone. The trick here is that some of the attack animations are quite long, and it is easy to waste your phone's ability if you try and use it when they are attacking, as it does not break up their attack.

Reminds Me Of Gen V!

The art style in Klaroro - Abyss of the Soul is awesome! It has a very fun and retro style to its pixel art graphics. I would say something like Bro Force is a great comparison, only this one is XXX. The characters have a ton of charm to them, and if you defeat them, you get a nice reward of a cool pixel art sex scene. These are a lot of fun, and I love how some of them are pretty quirky. For example, one has you banging a chick's armpit, and one that I got a huge kick out of was a fairy basically riding you with her whole body. It reminded me of the character, Cricket, from the awesome show, Gen V, as she has a sex scene in that show, which is very similar.

Pros:

• I liked the selection of cute fantasy monster babes
• The gameplay has a nice challenge to it
• This game has some super fun lewd scenes
• The boss rush gameplay is a blast!

Cons:

• The game is so good, I wish it had more bosses to fight
• The enemies' attack animations not being able to be stopped may be an issue
