Hooked

While the cool cartoon art style of Hooked may have been what attracted me to the game at first, it was the fun characters, witty writing, and sexy content that really hooked me. This is a short, but erotically sweet, lewd visual novel that pretty much ticked all the boxes of what I was looking for. I was able to plow through this in one sitting, and I had a great time while doing so. If you want a lewd visual novel that looks amazing, is interesting, and is not asking for a great deal of your time, I am having a really hard time off the top of my head thinking of another visual novel game that I liked better than this one.

Dylan, You Son Of A Bitch

Ok, so while you may come to Hooked for the cute girls, I have to say what really made me want to play this was when I was checking out the few screenshots that the developer posted, there was one that was a clear reference to the awesome scene in Predator where Dutch and Dylan do their big macho handshake where their biceps are about ready to explode. That may seem a strange thing to kick this review off with, but let me tell you, that kind of sets the comedic and fun tone for what you are in for over the next 30 to 40 minutes it takes you to play through this game.

An Accidental Porn Star

The actual story of Hooked is a ton of fun. We play the role of a college freshman in the early 2000s who is a pretty normal guy. However, three cute girls who are also porn stars end up liking what they see with us, and before we know it, we are on the road to becoming a porn star ourself! This is fun and quirky stuff, and I thought that the writing was very well done. The game is not taking itself too seriously at all, and it legit made me laugh on multiple occasions, as there is just so much quirky and fun stuff going down here. I liked how there was a relatively small cast of three babes, as it meant that even with the short runtime of the game, it gave each girl a moment to shine and showcase her unique personality.

Time Is A Manmade Construct

To say that the little over 30 minutes it took me to see all that Hooked had to offer flew by is an understatement. This is a lewd visual novel that knows exactly what it is. It is a short and sweet experience, and if you want to see all of the lewd content it offers, you can do it in one sitting. I thought that this was great, yes, the gameplay is your typical lewd visual novel style, but it all works really well, and I had a blast. I was so engrossed, I was just clicking and clicking to get to the next scenes. I have played far too many adult visual novels recently, where they just go on and on forever! Playing one like this that gets in and out, leaving you wanting more, is a much better experience!

Three Cute Girls

I am just in love with the whole look of this game. Hooked has three girls for you, and each one is unique. You have your goth-looking chick, a sexy redhead, and a nerdy chick with glasses. They each look great in their own way, and the facial expressions and the sexy way they look at us are so damn hot! The game is just very well made, and it kind of looks like something Don’t Nod or Deck Nine, the people behind the likes of Life is Strange and Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, would make; the characters have that kind of look to them. There are only a couple of sex scenes, but as the game is short, that is ok, plus, they are very well done!

Pros:

• I loved all three of the girls
• The early 2000s setting was super cool
• There is some fun and witty writing here
• I liked how it did not ask for much of my time

Cons:

• I wish they had leaned more into the early 2000s setting
• A couple more XXX scenes would have rocked!
