Gas Station Manager is a simulator that puts you in the role of a new gas station manager. Per the game, you’ve won a gas station in a scratch card game and are now running it to try and make your fortune. This simulator allows you to clean your store, fill up cars, and defend your gas station from robbers. The game has low-poly graphics, and multiplayer options.
Not Very Detailed
It’s not just the graphics that are lacking in detail. Gas Station Manager also has a few issues that, while they don’t make the game unplayable, do detract from the game. The mop bucket can be set upside down but still mysteriously work. This isn’t uncommon with sims, with cooking games like Cooking Simulator requiring items thrown at each other to work. Running in the game is also highly distracting, with the players belly, arms, and what ever they are carrying wobbling while they go. With most games either just having the hand in view or not showing hands until they are used, seeing parts of the body greatly distracts from what the player is supposed to be doing. Removing these views would allow the player to focus on gameplay.
Filling Tanks is Challenging
Most gas stations are self-serve these days, but in this particular game you are required to help customers fill their tanks. The customers ask for a very specific amount of gas. Your goal is to get as close to the amount they requested as possible - not as easy as it sounds. The game shows you briefly where the right spot is, and then you have to fill it before it shows you how close you got to the target. Most of the time, at least as a new player, you don’t hit that target.
Expand Your Gas Station
At first the gas station is nothing but grime, a cash register, and the pumps themselves. Through earning money selling gas, you’ll be able to expand what you sell to a convenience store as well. Customers are happy to buy additional products as well as just their gas. Before you have the money for new products, you can also earn additional income through side jobs. The game allows you to do things like clean car windshields for a few extra dollars.
Caring Developer
The developer seems to be invested in the game and actively searching for ways to improve the game. When someone complains about an aspect of the demo, the developer replies asking for more details in the hopes of fixing it. These responses give players the hope that problems with the game will be fixed eventually.
Although Gas Station Simulator has its flaws, it’s worth checking out if you are interested in simulators. It’s reasonably priced, offers the experience of running a gas station, and allows for co-op. Most games benefit from friends, so it’s great to have a simulator that allows multiple people to play.
Pros:
- Co-op up to 4 players available
