Welcome to the best burger joint in the galaxy! Galaxy Burger is a relaxing cooking game where you prepare gourmet burgers in a variety of flavors for hungry aliens from all over space. Your galactic reputation is on the hook has you prepare everything from vegan sandwiches to burgers with absolutely no pickles.
Cute but Simple
If you’re expecting to sweat it out with burgers flying everywhere to a hoard of customers, not to worry. The game is more about relaxing as you wait for that meat patty to cook to the perfect temperature.
Supporting this relaxing theme are the graphics, which almost look like they were drawn in Microsoft Paint they are so simple. This isn’t to say the graphics are ugly. The adorable mecha kittens in fact, are extra adorable even in their simplicity. The human characters however, are almost creepy with their poorly drawn, distant looking eyes.
Gradual Increase in Complexity
The game starts you off with a simple medium rare burger as a tutorial, but the burgers quickly advance from that. Some characters want two burger patties, which take more time than things like toasting buns.
Some people want an ocean of ingredients on their burgers, making it a bit more difficult to look through the list and make sure nothing is missed. Although the game does increase in complexity, it never hits the point of feeling stressful. Instead, it just keeps you busy and avoids becoming boring.
Rotating Through Planets
The game takes place in our own solar system, with the player moving from planet to planet selling burgers. In this regard, it’s not unlike Startenders, where you rove around serving alcoholic drinks in space.
The game breaks with Startenders in the ingredients however, while Startenders is quite exotic with alien ingredients to work with, Galaxy Burgers keeps the ingredients fairly mundane.
In order to hop planets, players have to earn a certain amount of money and reputation from the first planet. It gets progressively more expensive to leap from one planet to another, so players had best be prepared to save money in order to travel to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
Time Intensive
While the goal of the game is essentially to help you kill time when you have nothing better to do, it can almost take too much time. Every single ingredient has to be hand clicked and dragged over to the burger or grill, there’s no fast click option to instantly get 4 pieces of lettuce.
Some burgers can also trend toward ridiculous, with more meat or buns than can fit on your grill at one time. This can bridge the gap between fun and tedious in just a short while.
If you’re just there to relax and kill time anyway it’s not bad, but if you’re looking for something a bit more engaging this may not be the greatest game for you.
This is a relaxing cooking game with a space twist to make it more engaging. It features adorable mecha cats and simple cooking to make the game relaxing, but comes at the price of being somewhat tedious in gameplay. If you’re just looking for a time killer, this is a nice little clicker game to keep you entertained.
