FIA’S ADVENTURE

I love a good lewd RPG, and a friend suggested I check out FIA’S ADVENTURE, which he spoke very highly of, so I thought, what the heck, and I decided to see if it lived up to his hype. The game ended up having way more substance than I was expecting, and it posed a pretty solid challenge, something I was not expecting, but I was very happy and surprised to see. I ended up plowing my way through this and having a great time as I did, so I wanted to share my experiences with the game and why I feel that if you are also into lewd RPGs, you should give it a chance.

The Chosen One!

Nope, we are not talking about one of the aliens from the amazing Toy Story 3: The Video Game, but our protagonist and heroine of FIA’S ADVENTURE, the titular Fia. This is a game that does not have the greatest translation as I write this, but it is still very easy to figure out the basics of what the deal is. The game takes place in a fantasy land, and there is this evil curse/force that is pillaging its way through everything and corrupting life as we know it. Fia is a maiden, and she is the chosen one who is to head out on this adventure and put an end to the evil, once and for all. Hey, it is pretty typical stuff, but I think it works well and gives you enough motivation to be doing what you are doing.

Putting The Action In ARPG

When my buddy described FIA’S ADVENTURE, he said that he thought it was more like The Binding of Isaac…. Yeah, I am not sure what the heck he was going for with that one when I first saw the game, but when I entered combat, I kind of got it. This is way more of an action RPG than a typical JRPG when it comes to the combat. It is much more quicker paced and the game has you moving all over the place looking for the right place to strike. I really, really liked this as it made me feel like it was more skill-based than just forcing me to endlessly grind through tons of turn based battles to watch my stats go up! The game is quite challenging, but when I found myself failing in combat, it was more often than not due to a cocky mistake that I made.

One Rune To Rule Them

There are, of course, a bunch of RPG elements at play in FIA’S ADVENTURE, and these are most notable with the progression system. There are these runes that the game offers, and you can combine these to help you with abilities and progression through the game, and figuring out what runes combine best is very challenging, but not in a bad way. The game has a lot to keep you busy, and I found myself always moving forward, be it the main story that I was on or something that distracted me for a little bit, but still felt like it was important. The game is very well made, and I really did have a great time with it; perhaps the best compliment I can give it is that if this were just a standard RPG, without the lewd content, I would still have really liked it.

From Dream To Nightmare

I am a massive fan of the overall presentation of FIA’S ADVENTURE! This game has a very dark and gothic look about it, and that is something I really do love. Fia is very easy on the eyes, but there are other great-looking characters too, such as Katrina and her huge sword/spear thing and the witch looking chick who deals with the upgrades. The enemy designs are pretty freaky, and of course, Fia gets into more than a few XXX situations with the various enemies along the way. It is awesome that they have not used the whole pixel art trope to make it look like a 16-bit or even a 2D-HD game. Instead, they have very smooth-looking characters that are finely detailed and incredible-looking backgrounds and locations.

Pros:

• I loved the setting of the game
• There are some very cool characters here
• The combat system is awesome; it's fun and challenging
• They did an amazing job with the presentation

Cons:

• Some of the writing felt a little off
• The darker style of the visuals may not click with everyone
