Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed

In this spectacular 3D Platformer, Disney characters from the ages are brought back to life. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed puts players in control of the entire Disney world through a magical paint brush.

Mickey has made a grievous mistake, similar to the one he made in the classic Disney movie, Fantasia, and has covered the cartoon world known as the Wasteland, a place for forgotten cartoons, in Paint Thinner. Although he tried to escape it, he is sent back to Wasteland and forced to deal with the consequences of his actions.

The game gives players morality choices, with the option to rebuild or destroy. Mickey both has the magic paintbrush that heals things, but can also destroy them with more paint thinner. The choice is up to you.

These choices have real implications to the game. If you chose to help a character, they may pop up at a later time to thank you and perhaps help you back. If you refused to help them in their time of need—well—they may have died as a direct result of your actions.

Good, Bad and Neutral Endings

Because all the quests can be completed in different ways, there are alternate endings depending on the choices you make. This can broadly be divided up as good, bad and neutral endings.

The game is very open-ended in the way it can be played as well. It’s not necessary to complete the quests in a specific order, and some don’t have to be done at all. This allows the game to be fairly freeform, at least within reason.

Bursting With Content

While the game itself is worthy of attention, there’s so much more to the game than that. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed also features original artwork, cartoon reels and pin badges. As you travel through the game, you never know which one of these marvelous additions will show up.

Improvements from the Original

The “rebrushed” part of the name isn’t just in reference to that magical paintbrush. This is a remake of the wii game, Epic Mickey. This popular wii game was originally made in 2010, and some critics complained about the squirrely controls. The controls, and many other problems of the game, were fixed when the game was revamped for. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. Although great improvements were made, the controls are still noticeably finicky in some spots.

The overall comparison between the games is good. The game has been modernized for 2024, but still manages to keep much of the game intact.
