Dark Moon is a survival strategy game, where your objective is to seek shelter in the darkness, to avoid the rays from the scorching sun. And to be able to survive in the darkness, you need to gather as many resources as possible, so that you can build your base, and do your best to survive.

The Darkside of The Moon

After being sent on a mission to oversee a new mining system that was to be implemented on the moon, what was supposed to be a simple and easy-going objective, suddenly turns into an awful situation. A random solar storm happens and destroys every electronic device on its way to Earth. And if losing communication wasn’t bad enough, you must now avoid the sunlight to survive, as it is destroying everything on its path.

To be able to survive, you will need to act fast. You now must do your best to keep your crew alive and try to find a way to make contact with Earth again. However, since you are in an unknown territory, you have no idea of what troubles await you, but be careful, as you will come across difficult situations where a choice must be made, and your actions will always have consequences.

Hide In The Shadows

Thankfully there is a mobile lunar base called The Mechaplex, and not only is it your base of operations, but it also serves as a way to avoid the sun. You must use it wisely, as it is also what stands in the way of you, and mysterious enemies that lurk in shadows with you. So upgrading The Mechaplex is essential, and to do so you will need to scavenge the moon for any resources that can be used to improve your base, but remember that staying in one place for too long means death.

While escaping the sun, you will come across other survivors that are also trying their best to survive. Some of them can be useful to you, as they can offer you new abilities and buildings to be added to your base. However, it is your choice to welcome them to your crew, since you will have to feed and take care of them. So it is up to you, to act on your own, or to try and trust other survivors.

In the chance that you accepted survivors, and now have a crew, you will need to do your best to keep a healthy relationship with them. Some of your actions will have consequences, so be careful to make wise decisions, as some of them can bring chaos to your base.

Dark Moon is a great game for those seeking a high-paced survival game. So if you like games like Rimworld and Frostpunk, you will for sure enjoy Dark Moon. Its gameplay is interesting, and the fact that you have to act quickly adds a sense of impending doom. Not only that, the sunlight is not the only threat, as you also need to be wary of enemies that also habit the moon, and even your own crew can prove to be a threat to you at some point.
