DachaBo! Digi-Pet Sim!

Wow, DachaBo! Digi-Pet Sim! is a lewd visual novel that left one hell of an impact on me. I played this when it first came out, but it got a pretty substantial update that added in voice acting and more content so I went back to play it again and it was actually even better than I remembered it being. This blends a few different genres together, but I think that it is right on the line of being classed as a horror style of lewd game as there is some pretty unnerving stuff that Bo will say or say he will do!

Hey, I Know You

If you think that there is something a bit familiar with DachaBo! Digi-Pet Sim!, the reason for that is this is a game that is made by the same guy that did Something’s Wrong With Sunny Day Jack and there are some real similarities with the tones of these two games. They both have characters that seem like they want to date you, but end up being pretty unhinged. The whole tone of the game can have you on edge one minute and then thinking that Bo may not be that bad of a guy the next, the writing is fantastic and I was completely sucked in here.

Made In The 90s

The premise of DachaBo! Digi-Pet Sim! is that in the 90s there was a Tamagotchi like device that had a cute guy called Bo in it. The company that made these recalled them all as there was something wrong with them, but you have come across one, and despite not having a new battery for nearly 30 years, the device works as if it were brand new and you start chatting with Bo. Bo at first seems likable and he wants to date or just get to know you better. However, he can change on a dime and talk about how he wants to “breed” you or what he will do such as turning all the traffic lights green, if you do not do what he says. It is great and thrilling stuff and as I said, it is right on the line of being a horror.

Don’t You Dare Swipe Right!

This is a visual novel so most of the gameplay in DachaBo! Digi-Pet Sim! is you just clicking the button to select something or to move something on. I think that they do a good job of making you feel like you are clicking some kind of 90s Tamagotchi device and that you are not just messing with a phone. What I loved about the “gameplay” was the way that it would lull you into a false sense of security. By that, I mean that you think everything is going ok, and then BAM, Bo hits you with something messed up and it may legit make you feel uneasy or even panic a little. There may not be much to the actual gameplay, but as the story and presentation are so good, it gets a pass from me.

A Cute Kind Of Guy

As I just said, DachaBo! Digi-Pet Sim! does a great job of making you feel like you are messing with a Tamagotchi from the 90s. The game has a nice and bright art style to it and the design of Bo is fantastic. At first, he is this cute guy with flowing hair, funny ears, and a cute smile, plus he has a rocking body. However, we also get to see a sinister and dark side to him as well, but then he will go back to being cute and it is like all is forgiven. The game really does look fantastic. The first time I played this, I was impressed, but the extra scenes and especially the voice acting have made this an even more immersive and creepy experience.

Pros:

• Bo is a very well written character
• The game goes from wholesome to creepy and back again repeatedly
• I liked how it looked like a 90s Tamagotchi
• The voice acting adds a ton of personality to the game

Cons:

• It may be a tad on the creepy and unsettling side for some
• I guess you could argue there is not much to the gameplay here at all

DachaBo! Digi-Pet Sim! - is an erotic dating simulator with elements of horror. In your hands got an old sample of the toy, which was released back in 1996. For unknown reasons, the company stopped producing DachaBo - a portable simulator of a pet and friend. Instead of a pixelated kitty or doggie, you'll be greeted by a whole guy dog. Looks like the manufacturers didn't lie and your personal pet boyfriend on the other side of the screen harbors strong feelings for you. Perhaps too strong.

Pros of the game:

• Talk to your DachaBo and he'll respond like a real human being
• Your choices influence the development of your relationship with your boyfriend
