One of the best things about video games is that absolutely anything is possible in them, and we mean it when we say anything. This means that we can play through any kind of crazy adventures and experiences we would have never even imagined. But there's a genre that's especially there to help us experience things that we have imagined, and that is, of course, the simulation genre. Today's simulation game is Climber: Sky Is The Limit, and you might have already guessed what this game is simulating just by the name itself.

Of course, doing heavy climbing is a pretty dangerous thing to do, and one needs to be specially trained for a long time to be able to successfully do something like this. Not everybody has what it takes to do this kind of thing, luckily here's a simulation for this. But let's talk a little deeper into what Climber: Sky Is The Limit is all about!

About the game

A combination of survival and mountain climbing simulation will allow players to tackle the world's highest peaks. It seeks to offer high-realism content and playable diversity. As mentioned, there is a strong emphasis on realism in this game, so there are quite a few survival elements involved.

In a game simulating something as delicate as climbing the highest mountains in the world, it was impossible to stay away from survival themes and mechanics. So not only is there the intense challenge of climbing, but the control of resources, energy, and even taking care of our oxygen usage. That's right, we will even have to take into account the way our character breathes, remember that oxygen is much scarcer at higher altitudes.

The objective of the game is for players to reach the summit of different peaks around the world. It will offer the possibility to visit different summits such as Mount Everest, Broad Peak, or K2. A single-player approach to the game is sought, where expedition planning is important.

Intense simulation

The realism involved in the simulation of Climber: Sky is the Limit is good, and it will keep you, the player, at the edge of your seat, and even holding your breath. It kinda reminds us of one of the most immersive climbing game simulations, the title simply called The Climb, available for VR. Of course, that one is a bit more immersive since it's in first-person and it plays on VR, which makes things like this a bit more intense.

Climber: Sky is the Limit is a pretty cool game, not only for how well-made the whole simulation part is but also for how unique it is. Sure, there are way too many simulation games out there, but very few focus on climbing. Still, we do have to mention that the gameplay could use some improvements, to make it a bit more engaging. The controls aren't exactly the easiest to handle, and it doesn't feel like the climbing aspect is properly there.
