Car Mechanic Shop Simulator

If you’ve ever wanted to take a rusted, old muscle car and turn it into something special, Car Mechanic Shop Simulator is the perfect game for you. Just as the name implies, the game puts you in charge of a mechanic shop, flipping cars, selling parts, and managing a business. While the reviews on this game are mixed, it may be because those who have done a quick scan of the game haven’t taken the time to truly explore the game. Car Mechanic Shop is actually a beautifully detailed game that gives you an authentic experience. Pop the lid of a car and you’ll be able to work on each individual part of the engine. You’ll need to figure out what’s wrong with the cars you purchase, fix them, and then resell them for a profit once you’ve completed your restoration.

Unique Tutorial

The game opens with a little teaser showing you what the game is about. You watch your character purchase a car, take it back to the shop, and fix it. Later, with a new paint job and a fresh look, the car is sold for quadruple the purchase price. The tutorial has you fix something relatively simple on a car - just adding oil - and then has you test the car on a track. It gives you a good idea of what to expect in the game. If you’ve ever played Supermarket Together, think of it as a car version of the game.

Multiple Ways to Play

Car Mechanic Shop Simulator provides several avenues of gameplay. There’s a sandbox style mode, a normal mode, a hard mode, and the option to turn the tutorial off. On top of fixing and flipping cars, you can also play a customer facing game getting parts for customers, stocking shelves and counting change. The customer facing side does have a few oddities that make the game a bit more difficult to play. When the customers pay, the change your character gives back to them doesn’t always make sense. This can be a little annoying but doesn’t affect gameplay too much. There’s also only about 5 customers that ever come in the shop, making it somewhat repetitive to see the same faces over and over. As your company grows, you can hire employees to help you.

So-So Graphics

The graphics aren’t anything to write home about. They do a decent job of showing what you’re doing, but they’re not breathtaking either. This is fairly on par for simulators though, so nothing especially surprising.
