Capcom Vs. SNK Pro

I've always loved fighting games. They were a chance to square off against your friend in a one on one competition to see who really is the strongest fighter. Among fighting games, one name has always remained synonymous with 2D arcade fighters, and that's Capcom. The originators of the original Street Fighter, they've produced in Capcom vs. SNK Pro what they already perfected on the PS2 in Capcom vs. SNK 2. Featuring thirty-five different characters, each with a unique fighting style, you'll be able to take on characters from your favorite SNK and Capcom games.

The different 'groove' styles present in previous CvsS title for the PS2 are still here, although they've been pared down to the Capcom and SNK groves, or the traditional grooves from either set of games in other words. You've got ratio points, so you can stack four weak fighters against two powerful ones, or go with a balance of three all around fighters.

Added is a purchase mode, where you can unlock new character by purchasing them with points gained in the arena. And, as always, you can fight one on one with one of your friends in versus mode.

Once you've done that, you'll get to the fighting. I was happy with this title, but for some reason, it just didn't seem like my PS1 Dual Shock 1 controller was that easy to use. Pulling off super moves was pretty challenging with the lack of analog stick control. The graphics, for a PS1 game, look good.

They're still 2d, bright and sharp, and don't overburden the system. I wasn't able to make the game unintentionally slow down during any of my bouts. On top of that, this game sounds great.
