About the game

Against the Storm is a roguelike city builder that takes place, as we mentioned before, in a fantasy world, and one of the interesting and unique elements of this world is that it never stops raining.

The player takes the role of the Queen's viceroy, thus you are a pioneer sent into the wildlands to try and establish and grow a new settlement to expand the kingdoms' domains. You have to carefully plan the city distribution, and gather the resources required to survive and upgrade the Smouldering City.

But remember that the elements are a constant threat in this world, and the rain isn0't the only threat from the weather around. The constant threat of a storm is all over the place as you try to survive and build up a successful city. Building a city also means creating and maintaining a market, and this means you have to start getting productivity going. Gather and sell resources and make your city the most advanced one around, and remember that, if you're successful, you can build more than just one city. So good luck surviving against the storm.

The devs themselves actually went ahead and started their description of the game with Banished meets Slay The Spire, and taking that into consideration you can already understand how this game works. As you create your new society you have to take care of how the internal relationships in your city are going.

Not only this but, the economic aspect is important, and to grow your distribution chain and create networks of commerce. It is a complex experience, but once you get the grasp of it, it gets easier.

Against the Storm is an interesting game in many ways, as the constant pressure of nature elements building up as you try to survive and establish a new, efficient settlement and create a city is a great motivation.
