14 Days With You

A lewd visual novel with horror elements is what 14 Days With You is all about. I am all about this kind of thing and with it having a boy's love twist too, it makes for a very interesting and engaging experience. I will say that the version I have played is only a couple of chapters long, but from what I have seen and read from the developer, progression is coming along nicely and more chapters are going to be added to the game sooner than later. Still, I had such a great time with this, I wanted to get my thoughts down while they were fresh.

Strange Things Have Been Happening

One of the things that 14 Days With You did which enabled it to get its hooks into me so deep was having such a great opening and setup. We play as an MC who we can name and give pronouns to and so on, but I just played them as a regular dude. Anyway, our MC has moved back to their hometown of Corland Bay and things are weird. Stuff goes missing around our place and a neighbor is convinced that they saw someone leaving our house late at night!

My Night In Shining Armor!

We have a fairly mundane job in 14 Days With You, but we have this cute pink haired guy called Ren who seems to take a liking to us and who can keep us safe…. Well, that is what he says his intentions are. Ren has a very unhealthy kind of obsession with us to the point where he will do anything to have us and get rid of anyone that he feels may come between us. It is a story of obsession, but there is a bit of a horror and creepy twist to it all. It is very well written and I think that it manages to walk a fine line of making you interested in this guy, but also making you very wary of him too. I am very interested to see where this all goes!

One Stalker To Rule Them

One of the most interesting things about 14 Days With You is that this is a lewd visual novel game that does not have several love interests. You still have to make various choices as you progress and each day in the game will have different endings ranging from good and bad, but you do not have to romance a bunch of dudes. I liked this approach, it made the stuff we do with Ren feel more real and more scary when his affections start to get a bit much. The choices come at a decent rate and I always felt like the choices I was making had some weight to them.

Purple Haze!

The way that 14 Days With You looks is very interesting. The characters have an anime look about them and Ren sure is a cute character, him being cute makes his rather disturbing personality even more creepy and hard to deal with! They have given each of the characters in the game a very cool vibe about them.

What really sets this game apart from the rest is the rather strange, but cool purple tint many of the scenes have. It is hard to explain and the developer says that they went all in with ambience effects, but it does give the game a cool vibe. As far as the XXX stuff goes, there is a bit of it in this early part of the game and it has that same cool and stylish anime thing going on as the rest of the game.

Pros:

• I thought Ren was a very complex character
• You can put your own spin on the MC
• Your choices feel like they matter
• I love the whole weird creepy vibe that this story has going on

Cons:

• I wish that they could release the chapters a bit quicker!
• The story may be a tad too weird for some people to get into

Two things that I love are horror and lewd visual novels and 14 Days With You mixes those two things together. This was just awesome stuff and it was one of those games that I just could not stop playing as I had to know what would happen next. It tells a great story, it has interesting characters and it has a very slick kind of art style that truly does grab your attention. I will say that it is a boys love style of game so that is something to keep in mind, but I would say this is as much about the horror and creepy element as it is the lewd stuff.

Can You Really Move Back Home?

Like many of you, I have played many lewd visual novels that just take too long to get going and they make you lose interest before it even really gets going. 14 Days With You is not like that! This is a game that gets going right away and keeps you interested all the way until the very end. We get to give our character a name and we have just moved back to Corland Bay which is where we grew up. We have noticed strange things happening like stuff not being where we left it and our neighbor tells us that they saw someone lurking around our place too! Trust me, this piques your interest right from the very start!

Meet Ren

We end up getting a job and the job we have kind of sucks, but it is here we meet the real star of 14 Days With You and that is Ren. Ren is a pretty wild dude, he is cute, has pink hair and he seems to really like us. You chat with him, get to know him better and he seems like a good dude, all be it a tad off. However, what starts off as a flirty friendship, ends up going down a path of obsession! Ren is just such a well done character, you want to like him, but you also feel that his obsessive nature is going to lead to trouble. It is like one of those Hallmark movies where some chick is being stalked by a “nice guy” and you are yelling at her to get away. Only here, you are the cute chick (well guy) and you are the one who is the object of a psycho’s attention!

Turning Up The Heat

If you have played any kind of lewd visual novel before, 14 Days With You is pretty much what you would expect as far as the gameplay goes. You make choices during the story and it will be these choices that decide what kind of conclusion the story you are in will have. What I loved about this was that they really do make you like and also kind of fear Ren so you are never fully sure what is the right thing to do. Perhaps he is harmless and he just really likes you? Or, is there something really wrong with this guy and he has sinister plans for you? There is more than enough content here for you to play through this again and that is certainly what I intend on doing.

The Thin Line Between Feeling Good And Scared!

I am a huge fan of the way that 14 Days With You looks. Ren is a very nice looking guy, but at the same time, he has something about his eyes that makes you think that this dude could be nuts. I guess you could say that we have an erotic horror here with the way that the visuals look. It has a very manga or comic book thing about it going on and then it is like there is a purple shade put over the screen. It is hard to describe, but it is most certainly a very unique kind of look and a look that I think gives this game a ton of personality. The style of visuals also do a great job of making the stuff that is rather unnerving, extra unnerving.

Pros:

• The horror and creepy elements are very well done
• Ren is a fantastic character with a lot of depth
• I legit felt like my choices had consequences
• The visual style is kind of weird, but it really does work

Cons:

• This has been taking a while to get over the finish line
• It may be a bit creepy and odd for some people to click with
