Yu Gi Oh! Legacy of The Duelist

We've all dreamt about our favorite shows and animes becoming a reality. After all, who wouldn't want to live in a world where all the amazing powers and abilities from our favorite anime were real? And this goes true even for some slice-of-life anime, in which we love to see the compelling life stories and experiences and wish would happen to us. And in this anime, the main idea was playing a card game, so it seems simple enough to make it a reality right? And even though there's a real card game in the anime, it still lacks all the special effects. So that's where video games come in to play their part, and today we're talking about Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist.

About the game

Legacy of the Duelist is a game specially made for the fans of the anime and those who keep it up with following every new series released by Yu-Gi-Oh! world. Talking about a video game based on the card game is a little strange since most of the gameplay experience can be explained by just talking again about the existing, real experience of the physical card game. Of course, this can only happen when the video game comes after the real card game, as is the case with Yu-Gi-Oh!. What we're trying to say when talking about this is that we'll be focusing on what the video game itself is all about leaving aside the content of the mechanics and rules of the card game it revolves around.

Legacy of the duelist has a different game mode, the first and main one being the campaign mode. in this mode, we'll be able to play the story mode of 5 different sagas of the anime. This means that in this game we won't have a character of our own, but rather we will play through some of the most iconic moments of each saga.

There's also the challenge mode, in which we'll unlock different challenges as we progress in the story. In the Battle Pack mode, in which the game assigns us a temporal deck and we have to battle different opponents using what's been given to us. The usual store, where we buy different card booster packs, and expand our card collection, allows us to build our own deck to fight in the online mode.

Enough content?

Yu-Gi-Oh! games can have a hard time going away from just recreating parts of the anime, just like every game based on anime ever made. Games like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot or the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm saga that solely focuses on recreating the anime are proof of this. But When it comes to Yu-Gi-Oh!, we've seen games like Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force and Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force Arv-V that have been proving they can create original stories inside the anime, and that's much more original than what we get in Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist has a lot of faults we do our best to look away from for the sake of looking at the positive side. this is because the game has a great, updated set of rules, and pretty much all the cards available in the game up until the release date of this title. But we can't overlook the visuals and the lack of an original story.
